You see a lot of this on Ebay , the seller must be hoping for someone who must have this cd NOW and not take the time to shop for a better deal '
I have this cd and it does sound great , but I have seen it go a lot cheaper than $700 , I'm sure with patience you could purchase this cd for $150 tops .

I've spent about $699.00 since 1973 buying this album or CD....

The 24-Karat Gold copy of this performance won't make me change my mind one way of the other...

This comes from the same Dude,

You are looking at an extremely rare Elvis Presley LP. The title is Moody Blue AFL1-2428. This is the experimental version of this LP. It is pressed on red vinyl. This record was never released to the public. There were only 50 copies made of this particular color of this record. The cover is in near mint condition. Also at the top of the cover, there is a red dot that was put on the cover to identify the color of the record. Many of these albums never had this. This is the complete way that it came. The record is in perfect mint condition and never played. I have listed below the tracks on this album.

$1,800.00

This one must have been around smoke, since it's not mentioned.

looking through his feedback......

He sold a 24 K gold CD of Jethro Tull's "A Passion Play" for $ 699.00.

How can this be called fraud if someone is willing to pay the amount for a Japanese rare copy.

They got "Brothers and Sisters" at a discount for $ 425.00. Somebody needs to jump on this.

That kind of stuff is for folks that have so much cash that they don't worry about the cost. They just want it. Then they can show it to Biff and Muffy and tell them how much they paid.

I have many MFSL recording (unfortunately not "Fillmore East") and they are great sounding CDs. But while it's true they are "gold plated", one thing they're NOT is "24-Karat Gold". btw MFSL stands for Mobile Fidelity Sound Lads.

Anyway, here's some info from Wikipedia about MSFL:

quote:
Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab (MFSL, or MoFi) is a company that produces audiophile releases of classic CDs and vinyl records. In the past, MoFi has produced audiophile cassette tapes, and Ultra High Quality Records (UHQRs) that were thicker and higher quality than typical audiophile records.

Many commercial CDs undergo dynamic range compression in order to sound "louder" when played on radio or low-end systems. This is detrimental to the sound quality when reproduced on high-quality equipment. Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab releases are highly desirable for their attention to detail concerning the audio mastering process. Some of the techniques used are half-speed mastering [vinyl] and pressing gold-plated CDs. MFSL also releases record albums meant to be played at 45 RPM instead of the standard 33⅓ RPM, for better sound quality. These albums must be released on two or three discs, as each disc can hold less music at the increased speed.

MFSL only acquires the license to reproduce releases for a specific time period, and because of the limited quantities produced, they are highly sought after.

MFSL became highly noticed in 1981 when they released The Beatles box set. The set comprised of all 13 of the original British versions of their albums pressed off the original Abbey Road Studio master tapes. With the high-density "virgin" vinyl and Half-Speed mastering used, these albums produced sonic nuance never previously heard on earlier Beatles releases. Each album cover had a picture of the actual studio tape in its box along with the engineer's log sheet. An album-sized booklet displaying the original album covers was also included. The box set was such a success that they followed up with the Frank Sinatra and Rolling Stones box sets respectively.

MFSL has had a small number (four) of excellent mastering engineers over the years. Engineers Stan Ricker and Jack Hunt mastered all of MoFi's half-speed vinyl releases in the 1970s and 1980s. Shawn R. Britton has mastered all the CD-format and variations product since 1996, and is coming up to speed on lacquer mastering under the guidance of Stan Ricker as of this writing.

MFSL has been through two incarnations. The original company folded in November, 1999 when their main distributor went bankrupt, taking a large chunk of deliverable money with them. In 2002, the label was resurrected by Music Direct and has been producing well received Super Audio CDs, GAIN 2 Ultra Analog Limited Edition vinyl, Ultradisc II Gold CDs and Ultradisc CD-Rs since then. After nearly five years of service, in March of 2007, MFSL's Vice President of Marketing and Communications Coleman R. Brice left MFSL to run his own label - AERIA Records of Asbury Park, NJ.

I don't think it's fraud either. He's not misrepresenting what he's selling.

A note on "Smoke Free Environment". I'm not sure if you are chuckling that anyone owning an ABB record probably 'smokes' - or about the clause in general. It's actually a valid point. I'm not sure how it would affect an item like this, although heavy cigarette smoke could discolor the item, but it does make a difference when people are buying and selling items in which smoke could permeate - any type of textile, for example.

Barbie a Total Whore, Claims Ken

SUNNYDALE, CA - Famous female icon Barbie has been slammed in a book by ex-boyfriend Ken, who describes the celebrity as "a total whore." Ken also reveals that the celebrity has had plastic surgery at various times. In a leaked chapter of the book, Ken goes so far as to claim "as many already suspect, they are not real."

Barbie's agent would not respond to Ken's allegations but instead dismissed the jilted lover's problematic lifestyle and drug habits. Ken's recent troubles include a string of arrests and minor criminal charges, allegations of stalking and a conviction for drug possession late last year.

Ken told reporters this week that he had been sober for months now and describes his book Kenfessions: The Nightmare Truth Behind the Malibu Dream House as a soul searching quest to set the record straight.

"I see now that I must honestly confront parts of my past that have been unsavory. The chapter in which I describe how I found Barbie in bed with three midgets, a gazelle and a can of maple syrup was very painful to write, personally, but is part of the healing process. Writing about it and publishing it in memoir form helped me grow and move forward."

Fox news broke the story that the pair broke up amicably in February 2004, in a scoop that shocked America.

Barbie and Ken's respective publicists both described the breakup as a "sad" and "reflective" day for the world.

Barbie later told Barbara Walters that Ken was stifling her with "like, all these expectations of monogamy. Ken just couldn't cope with the fact my career always, like, over-shadowed his. He'd get insanely jealous and put on Lionel Ritchie albums. He can be, like, really scary sometimes."

The acrimony between the feuding couple got ugly late last year after Barbie linked former lover Ken to numerous off-screen affairs with 80s action-figures, including He-Man,Man-At-Arms and 60's Star Gumby.

"That f*cking bitch!" responded the president of the North-American Masters of the Universe Fan Club, Scott Jones. "Those were like my only frickin' heroes when I was growing up! There's another childhood memory wrecked.

"The damned whore," Jones added.
