We have done a thread on this topic many times, I looked back and tried to find the original thread. But couldnt find.

I was on the way home from work yesterday and on the radio the song by Edgar Winter came on and "yes" its Frankenstein. I thought what a song they could surprisingly open with. I think the Brothers (IMO) could rip this song. I think it has a hint of Brothers sound to it.

Was it Karl Densons Tiny Universe ? They used to play that.

I'd sure like to see them get back together

Are you thinking of Phish? They did it on Halloween back in the 90s.

It's an okay song, but it's very structured and riff-driven - I don't think there's much you can do with it other than making the solos longer.

I think its more the kind of thing Mule might do. It doesn't fit with the Allman "motiff" if you know what I mean.

When he plays it in concert, Edgar Winter actually does rap some lyrics before the song beings. I think they start "Way long ago, once upon a time, there was a funky doctor named Frankenstein"... and then somewhere in the middle, there's another bit I can't remember.

I hope the ABB DOES NOT do any more cover CRAP!!
Play Allman Brother music...write some songs, I want to hear what this band can do.
Some of the recent covers have been horrendous.

I know we all are some serious fans of the ABB's. I am one of them. Your all one too. There is nothing more I would love is to hear some new stuff. I dont see that happening anytime soon. Some of us dont like covers, some of us do. I can remember when they busted into an encore with Layla. That was pretty cool. The song Anyday was a favorite of mine for a few months after hearing them play it. I had never heard that song before. The Weight, what a classic. I love the old stuff, but wanting some new. I like surprises from the ABB's. By the list below, there have been quite a few surprises. I could really care less if they played Frankenstein, but thought if any band could play it, The ABB could nail it. No Doubt. The following is a list of songs and how many times played "live" since 1969. I would enjoy hearing them play any song, cause they are the best. Its a long list. But worth putting it out there for us all to see.
