The ticket stub and HTN Beacon shirt thread got me thinking of old shirts I've saved. Used to buy a lot of tshirts in high school to wear to school the next day. Don't buy many anymore. I have managed to sort of preserve my 77 Led Zep T and 78 Neil Young Rust Never Sleeps T. Also have some of the hand made tye dyes made by traveling Deadheads from the early 90's. You?

The oldest is from 1977, purchased at the Grateful Dead Seneca College Toronto Canada show. A friend of mine was there, bought the shirt and never wore it...he didn't become a deadhead, he was 13 at the time...found it in his Mom's attic at thought of me.

It's cool, greenish purplish tye dye with Jerry on the front, in a cheaply done "stamp" or pressing...very unique to my eyes and a neat collectible because it's like new, maybe washed once.

Then I have one from a Rush concert I saw in 1981, when I was 13..it's hurtin' so I don't wear it now.

I also have a shirt from my first Dead show July 4th 1986, it's hand done with beautiful caligraphy mentioining Dylan and Petty with an awesome design of steal your face on the back. Funny enough, I went to California for New Years that year and I wore the shirt one day, and the girl and guy who made it saw it, and asked me if they could trace the back of it because they had lost the design, and I was happy to oblige. I keep it with some other neat tour shirts I dont' wear anymore.

After that, tons of tye dyes from other GD shows, mostly from the 90's, including some really incredible designs..I was big on the home-made GD shirts, although I did buy some official ones inside the venue, and recently an ABB shirt at the last Darien Lake show so I try to support the bands who are worth it.

Right on musicalbeds, I bought a handmade tye dye one year at a GD show, and then wore it at the next year's show. This guy says, "nice shirt!, I made it". Sure enough, it was the guy I bought it from the previous year and he recognized his work. Magical times, those.

Hey that was my first dead show as well!!! I bought a great tie dye at that show and had a huge day of fun but anyway years later came home one day and found my grandmother had cut it up to use as rags. I still kept one chunk of it.

Have a ABB shirt from 1988 from Darien Lake I can't beleive I fit in it at one time. Cheers

A T-shirt from a regional reggae band--The Ark Band, circa 1991 (they're still around, too). I very vividly remember buying it from the back of the band's band, feeling ire myself.

I think I have a couple of t-shirts from around the same time that I picked up at the Soldier Filed parking lot during a Dead show (didn't get in), but they weren't Dead shirts.

Hey there sweet family,

A 1976 Leon Russell t, still in mint condition. After that, a 1977 t from a band called "The Uglies" from Fargo, ND. That's not in mint condition, because I wore it as pajamas for a long time. I'd faint if anyone else ever heard of that band.

Take care and know that you are loved,

Lana

Never had any luck with Concert T's. Seems as though they are all pretty cheaply made.
I remember a lot of them, but sadly, none remain. So my "Oldest" would be Nickel Creek '02.
