I've made it a habit of mine to wait by the side entrance doors to the Beacon before every show I see. I usually just try and get a picture or an autograph for myself. Unfortunately, as I saw last night, before and after the show, several people had an inventory of memorabilia and were trying to get it all signed by every Brother. These guys were not fans and there was no doubt that their signed items aren't going straight to E-Bay. One ABB crew member yelled at them, calling them thieves. I find this to be disgusting. Hopefully the security, and people who work for ABB, try and stop these people from being successful outside the venue.

I agree with you Ross, there were two guys with about 8 - 10 LP's each. I have also seen the guys with the pick guards and other stuff... whores.

That's a damn shame!! Those guys have been pretty good to the fans; stopping to say hi, signing some stuff. Too bad these clowns will end up ruining it!! That'll stop now, expecially since Greg signs very few already after the Mellissa guitar issue.

I hope they take care of those clowns!!

Man, if I was going to wait outside for a chance to meet the band, all I'd want is a handshake and some eye to eye contact when I tell them, "Thank you for all the great music." Memorabilia is nice if you're a collector, but I'd never sell anything if I did collect.

I think the band realizes someone with a stack of the same record is not just wanting a personal autograph.

If I'm the artist and somebody presents me with a stack of albums to sign, can't I politely say no, or I only have time to sign one or two?

One guy who had a stack of albums was very polite.

The only thing I saw that looked strange was when the guys ran up to Butch with their guitars so fast, it looked like they might knock him over. Then Butch took a wrong turn into the blockade and he was screwed, lol.

Another funny moment was Kirk trying to rearrange the parking blockades in the street. After a minute of struggling with them, he looks over at the three security guys and says something to the effect of ' Is there anybody out here who actually works for the theater and could maybe give me a hand with these things?!?!'

Warren finally showed up at 8:05pm at which time I got the official Warren Haynes handshake and granted him permission to start the show.

I also got to have dinner with Ron Delsner and Brian Farmer. The fact that we were sitting at different tables is besides the point.

I am actually surprised they got the stuff signed. I was out there with only 6 or 7 people after the 30th Anniversary show trying to get that poster signed by everyone. The only one who even looked in my direction was Dickey. Gregg, Butch, Jaimoe, and jack Pearson all walked right by me.

Well that was also in a little different era for the band.

Gregg signed a couple autographs on the way in last night which he doesn't usually do, but he usually tells people he'll sign on the way out and has been better each year about doing so.

Jaimoe will usually sign most times and signed a bunch before going in last night.

Butch will sign but it depends on what kind of mood he's in.

Oteil will sign but usually seems to walk in under the radar and is in the door before he's noticed alot of times.

Marc, Warren and Derek couldn't be more accommodating when it comes to signing.

Warren will even pose for picture after picture with the same person night after night, but I won't mention any names...

I've never experienced anything but kindness from the band when I asked to get something signed.

You find it disgusting that somebody calls them thieves or that they want to get their items signed? Who exactly are they stealing from?
Confused.

I see. No benefit of a doubt.
Or do they carry signs "This stuff goes straight to ebay"?

whoaaa brotha.....i'm not saying that all autograph seekers are selling **** on ebay, i get autographs all the time and could never fathom selling them. it helps i get them to put my name on the stuff too.

generally speaking, people with a whole stack of the same record are most likely not keeping them just for theirselves, as cited in the original post here:

several people had an inventory of memorabilia and were trying to get it all signed by every Brother.

I enjoy getting autographs and are proud of the ones hanging on my walls at home. But to profit off of is a joke, it happens, but not by me. Hell, I would hate to carry all that stuff around with me after I had them signed.
I dont get on Ebay much, I will buy and I collect Press 8x10's of bands I like. Some of them are autographed. But thats not why I collect them. I have just about every carnation of ABB 8x10 press shots. Its pretty cool seeing how the members change over the years.
Its not just music industry 8x 10 either. I have one with me and Rocky Blier Pittsburgh Steeler (Ret). He let me put all 4 of his Super Rings on and let me take a picture with him. Those are some damn big rings too.

When it comes to autographs these days, most are fake. Buyer beware, Thats why I like getting them for my personal satisfaction. That way I know they are real.

No that is not my guitar getting siged.....haha.

I was gonna, but he had such a big grin on his face and gave me a wink while he was giving me the handshake, so I let him slide.

In 2005 my wife asked Gregg if she could take his picture and he said sure , he was wearing a wool hat with a orange shirt and light brown scarf under his leather coat .
Turns out to be a great picture so we took it and got it enlarged ( 8 by 10 ) a couple of nights later Gregg signed it for us , its framed in our office , looks fantastic .
