Saw this thread on the Neil Young list and thought I'd give it a run here. If you could have five albums with you on a desert island, which ones would you choose ? Studio albums only, no live albums, no compilations, greatest hits, etc. Awright ! Here's mine...

Gov't Mule Dose

Allman Brothers Band The Allman Brothers Band

Grateful Dead American Beauty

Neil Young Everybody Knows This is Nowhere

Jethro Tull Aqualung

Well, assuming a double-studio album would also be against the rules, e.g., The Wall, I'll play:

Dark Side of the Moon
Another Side of Bob Dylan

Hmmm . . . this is hard w/no live ones

Abbey Road
Third Degree (Johnny Winter)
Black Melodies on a Clear Afternoon

Some alternates:

Close to the Edge
Master of Puppets

ABB - Eat a Peach - is it live or studio? Who cares I'm alone listening to Melissa

You know these 5 cd's are great and all but it'd really suck out there not being able to visit the family on this site. Besides on this island we call Pawleys I must have my Ipod and my rum. Bacardi please!

I think an I-Pod is cheating, but I will take all I can get. I know a little something of Lefty's I-Pod and we are gonna need a tractor trailer full of beer for me

This is way too hard.

1. ABB- Beginings
2. Led Zeppelin II
3. Guns 'n' Roses - Appetite For Destruction
4. Beatles - Sgt. Peppers (or just about any Beatles Album)
5. Gov't Mule - Dose

I would be one unhappy camper with such a puny choice list.
