WOW! Pretty f'n pathetic! Who does he really think he is?! What they (V.H.) should've done is hit the blues really hard! Just listen to the oldies off of W&C first/ Fair Warning & even Diver Down!! I believe Eddie really knows 'blues', just in his harmonys alone! I do miss the REAL Van F'n Halen, but I guess its all part of gettin' old. Stay Psycho DLR!!!
Thanks for the treat Stbhorn!

I noticed when Sammy Hagar is playing in Nashville later this month that his opening band contains Micheal Anthony and Sammy too and it's called "The Other Half".

LOL

40 views so far any only two comments. People are speechless. DLR was always borderline comedy. I think he just crossed the line. What can be said about that? If the intention was to make me laugh he definitely succeeded.

Musically I probably prefer these guys to whatever hard rock band he would put together anyway.

This seriously reminded me of the really bad performers that try out for American Idol. Simply horrible.

Treat? How do you figure that? I couldn't make it all the way through the clip before I had to stop it. Great musicians, lousy singin'.

Strummin' with the Devil is the name of the cd coming out. Dave has hit an all time low. He is moving in on Hayseed Dixie's market.

And classic Van Halen fans wonder why Eddie refuses to work with this clown? Although, Eddie is in la la land these days himself. What a shame.....America's greatest hard rock band gone to **** .

If you search "David Lee Roth" on You Tube you'll also find clips of Dave singing bluegrass versions of "Jump" on Jay Leno's show last week and an audio clip of a bluegrass "Jamie's Crying" from the new album "Strummin' With The Devil: The Southern Side to Van Halen" (or something like that). I think those were the only two songs on the album that Dave contributed to. To me, it's good and pathetic, yet interesting, all at the same time. DLR also did a bluegrass version of "Dance the Night Away" on CMT's "Studio 330 Sessions" the other day:

http://www.cmt.com/music/studio_330_sessions/performance/roth_david_lee/153 4177/performance.jhtml?performHeader=featured

I believe the bluegrass band behind DLR is the John Jorgeson Band, which includes John Jorgeson (guitar); Rob Ickes (dobro); Brad Davis (guitar); and and Scott Vestal (banjo). I understand that they're all very well respected musicians in Nashville, and Vestal is up there with Bela Fleck as being considered one of the best banjoists out there. DLR seems to have no idea who they are, but my guess is they're pretty much using DLR to get publicity for the album (this album was never a "DLR project" to begin with).

If I had to compare it to anything, I'd say it's more comparable to a Weird Al parody than a true "tribute" album. To each his/her own though.

One more little treat... I think my signature at the bottom here was really meant for DLR! Well, at least he's still playing music and having fun...
