Am I wrong on this or has this just not been mentioned today? The anniversary of his death is always a somber and reflective day for me. Today is the today to rejoice that he was put on the earth just long enough to give us his magic.

Agreed.

Birthdays are meant to celebrate, and Duane's is no exception!

Happy Birthday Duane!

And as an added bonus...today is also my son's birthday; he's officially a teen...so Happy Birthday Dylan.

He knows he shares a birthday with one of my favourite guitar players..he considers it an honour.

This was put on the Guest Book earlier today - but thanks for making a thread here, too!

Today marks the day that Howard Duane Allman was born 59 years ago in Nashville, TN. I am thankful for all the gifts he left behind with his music, and the love that has come about from the bond we share surrounding that music and the love he gave through his instrument. God bless Duane Allman.

I just saw the guest book entry and find it interesting that we both referred to our Skydog as Howard Duane Allman (altho we both know he would have been appalled had it been put on his headstone).

I just wanted to add the one of the greatest blessings we have ever received from God is His putting Duane on this earth during our lifetime.

I don't know if I would have made it through my teen years and beyond without the music of Duane Allman. His music brought me through some hard times.

Happy Birthday Duane.

Happy Duane Allman's birthday to everybody!

Thank you Duane for creating this great musical world that we all live in! Your music has brought so much joy and so many freinds into my life! I think a parade with a marching band would be in order ... except the band would get all tripped up over the cords. We'll let that part slide!

Maybe Brent and Randy could work this into the JFD?

I THINK THIS IS IMPORTANT - PLEASE STOP AND GIVE IT A READ

Today, Sunday, Nov. 20th is DUANE ALLMAN'S BIRTHDAY. Willie Howard posted it early today on the Guest Book. Unbeknowst to me, I started a thread on the Forum not that much later. This lonely little thread has gotten only 10 replies. It's after 9 at night. I was thinking, well, maybe it's Sunday, people don't get on the Web so much on Sunday, people have church, family obligations, football. But how many of you did check out this thread and pass right by it?

I just wanna know, aren't we all here first and foremost because Duane Allman had this spectacular dream; a dream that came true and has remained true 36 years later?

Brothers and sisters, please remember why we are all here.

My favorite Duane quote is simple, but it says a lot. "You can't hurt people with music, man. You can with words, but not with music."

God rest the soul of Brother Duane Allman. Remembering him always, but especially today.
