Hello Hockey Fans,
It's been along time since we have seen our favorite teams smashin' the boards. With the start of a new season I thought I would start a new thread. Go Boston Bruins............. Maybe we can get some predictions on the upcoming season.........

Isn't it about time for the NHL to have another strike?

I predict the Boston Bruins will not win the Stanley Cup!

It's a little to early in this revamped, reshuffled league to make decent predictions, but we can safely say....

LET'S GO DEVILS!!!!!!!

Sidney who???

Zach Parise BABY!!!!

...anybody see Mario's wheelchair?

I think we'll need wheelchairs for Belfour, Yzerman, and Hull.

Sadly enough... Go Leafs!

Stars come back from being down 4-0 after the first period to beat LA 5-4. Great game! I love the way the new rules have opened up the ice a little bit, allot more speed and skill showcased and allot more action. Hockey is BAAAACCCCKKK!!

The NHL Center Ice package is free the first week on DirecTV, I was up til one in the morning!

My beloved Chicago Blackhawks (the source of my screen name) still look the same. Solid defense, solid goaltending, no offense. Sigh.

Watch out for the Edmonton Oilers. Wow. What a roster.

The Blues are in trouble. Safe bet that the longest playoff streak in pro sports is about to end. MacInnis retired, they traded Pronger, didn't re-sign Demitra and they are for sale.

Bad way for the B's to lose last night, especially to the freakin' Habs. Maybe the NHL will will think twice next time about handing out all of those minature Stanley Cups. Projectiles!

The Great One has some trouble ahead. Coyotes are young, lotsa depending on Curtis Joseph this year.

How about Lindros scoring for the Leafs? Great game there...and I think the shootout is a great idea.

Loooove the new rules regarding actually calling obstruction hooking and holding. Let's see if they keep it up all season. They've tried this before, only to stop calling it by December.

CUJ, did you see any highlights from the Coyotes/Canucks game ? Joseph looked pretty good for a guy the Wings gave up on, even though they lost. My heart says Wings for the Cup ,just like every year but look out for the Senators. Spezza,Heatley,Alfredson,Hasek etc. make up a pretty strong team and they looked good against the Leafs in the opener I watched last night and took it in the first shootout decision in NHL history.

It seems strange to Watch Hockey on the Outdoor life network.

"between periods we'll being showing highlights of the big elk hunt"

boy did the flyers choke last night: 1-10 on the powerplay? with
3 two man advantages in a row.

Big & Bad will get beat by Fast & Furious in the new NHL.

Gotta love it!

Be happy that you at least get the OLN network, as a Cablevision customer they're still trying to negotiate a deal and I heard they blacked out the Devils and Isles games last night even for people like me with the NHL package.

Little early to put the words Flyers and choke in the same sentence JohnBoy!
Their power play has always been a sore spot for them
but I think it'll be one of the tops in the league, once
everyone gets used to their linemates.
No worries here.

Esche giving up a 5 spot bugs me a bit though.
Nittymaki is gonna be nipping at his skates soon enough.

A few predictions:

Calder Trophy (Rookie of the Year) - Ovechkin
Maurice Richard Trophy (Most goals) - Rick Nash
Norris Trophy - Tough to call
Twinkie eating Championship - Keith Tkachuk
Vezina Trophy - Jose Theodore
Roenick - Probably won't survive the season
Lindros - same as Roenick (may end up driving the team bus if he can get the proper liscence)
The Cup?????? Coming back to Canada (NOT The Leafs or Habs) Perhaps Calgary or Ottawa

As a Kings Fan, that was great to watch! NOT!

At least the "Mighty Ducks" won.

Is Baseball over??

*sigh* I wouldn't mind hockey so much if my boyfriend, Bryan, wouldn't yell so much at the TV. I had our neighbor come over yesterday, she thought he was beating me, nope.. just watching the hockey games. He's so happy and my cats are now very nervous around him *shrugs* here's to a long season!

Long time Islanduz fan here. I am psyched for the new hockey season. I love the game. Don't hate the game, as the kids say these days. Unfortunately they completely dismantled my team and Alexi Yashin is our captain (most overpayed worthless player in the league..IMO). I think the guy on MSNBC was right today with his prediction of their season which he summed up with..a season of failure. Oh well, at least they are playing again, good enough for me.

FSNY was showng a F%#@ing NASCAR interview!

I hope he falls off the fence he just climbed and gets run over!

Tonight I watched the Rangers lose in OT.

Tomorrow I'm supposed to get the Rangers/Devils.

MSG usually comes through.

Theodore for Vezina?????

NO!
