Fillmore West 1969 Box Set Update

Due to a very small number of order cancellations, we are re-releasing a finite number of 10-CD Fillmore West 1969 Box Sets. Quantities are extremely limited, and orders will be accepted on a first come, first served basis. This is truly your last chance to get the complete Box Set. We reserve the right to cancel orders from customers who have already placed an order or to limit quantities purchased for any customer.

I'm on hold...I'm gonna PEAK if I miss it again.

The day it sold out I tried to order it, and found it was sold out a few hours earlier.

I BEGGED them to put me on a list in case of cancellations..but they wouldn't.

Still on hold....

pre-ordered mine because I had a gut feeling about deadheads - the ultimate procrastinators and wanted to avoid the cluster**** as it came close to sold out. I love primal Dead. Any chance the thing will be re issued? kinda like that Terrapin Station 'limited edition'?

I ask them 'bout that, specifically citing the Terrapin case because I bought the original and it was re-released.

So it makes sense they would do it again.

But, they told me "NO";they only reprint ones I already own.

Anyone got a soother handy...I feel another rant coming on!

Let me be the first to say that I am sorry to hear that you missed the re-opening beds. I hope that another opportunity arises for you to get one without having to pay through your nose.

Thanks Slowhand, you're a good dude...but with no soother offered, I'm gonna have to continue....

It's the principle of the situation that's getting me upset the most.

Why... WHY release it in limited format? I don't care 'bout the fancy packaging etc, I just want access to the 10 cd's of music. It's unfathomable to me that they would do this.

Why wasn't "So Many Roads" limited? Why not re-package their back catalogue in limited forms? That stuff is out there, released once already, so that would make sense.

But noooooooo, they release stuff that isn't currently available in a limited format, leaving only a measley 3 cd set available for fans.

Surely, there's people who don't have quick access to cash, who couldn't afford to order the set before it sold out. THe message GDM sends is; if you have money you win. If you're broke and have to budget....this set isn't for you.

It's not like tour, where you could miss out on tickets because the venue only had a certain seating capacity. The release doesn't have to be finite...it's not a concert date that comes and goes.

So why market it in this imbecilic manner? It's like the government is doing the thinking for them....

And, why no list for cancellations? I was the first person to contact them after it sold out...I just missed it by a little over an hour I was told...so making sure I was next in line should one be available is only common sense, but they wouldn't make a list. I'm can't be smarter than everyone in the GDM, so why am I the only one who saw the need for it?

Sadly, the ball was dropped in a big way when this release was discussed. Alienating fans never works, and in this case it's just pandering to pretenious collectors who want limited ediitons to gratify their own wimpy ego's... because who else wants it to be limited?

http://www.phishhook.com/cgi-bin/search.cgi?action=search&artist=Grateful%2 0Dead&startDay=ANY&startMonth=ANY&startYear=1969&listType=OWNED&exact=true& venue=Filmore%20West&media=CDR&&page=1

not to be a jerk, but the shows are out there in tradable format...the 16 reel sbd masters sound especially tasty...and IIRC, thats the source that was mastered onto the CDs for this release. If you want every note of the four shows, check the above site, or any trading site...there was a vine on the philzone, Im sure there's one here as well...if not, perhaps i'll start one once I find those shows, since I have them somewhere.

No, it wont come with the booklet...but if all you want is the tunes, just look for em.
