Derek is playing 5 minutes from my house next Sunday night. Small 400 seat theater Tickets are 65 bucks. Worth it? What's a typical set like?

Typical set... hmmm about 2 hours or so.

Set 1: Blind Crippled & Crazy, I Wish I Knew, I'll Find My Way, Chevrolet, Rastaman Chant, Gonna Move, Greensleeves
Set 2: Joyful Noise, Crow Jane, To Know You, Feel So Bad, Going Down Slow, For My Brother --Encore: Pedro

Cool, thanks. Is "Chevolet" the ZZ Top song of the same name?

I've never seen dTb tickets that expensive before. They're usually a lot cheaper. You sure that's not a typo?

$65 is higher than any previous dTb show I have heard of. Is dTb the headliner? I usually pay $15 - $18 for the dTb shows i've seen in Nashville/Chattanooga the past few years. I'll be seeing them at Nashville's Exit/In next Thursday night - tix, $18. Are you sure about the $65 ticket price? I mean, I would pay that seeing how they are my favorite post '90 band!

I live in "the Hamptons" so everything is expensive. As far as I know there is no opener, so maybe he's doing a long set. I'm going to the box office tomroow to see if I canget a good seat. I saw Bobby Blue Bland there a couple years ago, sat in the front row with my girl and Bobby, made me get up and sing a song with him after he quized me on my knowledge of the blues.

A race fan and a Yankee....nice!

GO see the show...it's a bit more expensive due to the venue costs.

Lot's of Usual Truckspects are going to be there.

Nothing like seeing dTb in a proper small theater setting.

What concerns me is the long ass drive from Westhampton to Ocean City, NJ the next night.

Absolutely worth it. $65 is steep though... I saw him for $20 in Austin. They played 3 hours for us.

I love Derek...but he could be playing in my backyard, and if it cost sixty five bucks, I'd have to think twice. Thats a lotta money.

Are you from Long Island or just traveling around? The theater is really nice, very good acoustics in there. It's a converted movie house, where I went on my first proper date 25 years ago.

No, it's either the Robben Ford version or Taj Mahal.

musically there is no question about it... go see them!

on the other hand your financial situation may make a difference... I know I have to plan accordingly to hit shows....

I would say that if you would spend $65 bucks per ticket to see anyone (ABB or otherwise)... I would suggest going, they will not disappoint... alot of shows are cheap (I got 4th row center for $15 a pop once).... but not all of them will be... and seeing the DTB in a small venue is the absolute best...

Peace
Ross

no, not really. I'm an unemployed 26 year old who just graduated college, and is looking for a job...I have a hard time justifying spending 65 bucks on ANYTHING, these days. Not my loss at all, since I cant go anyhow...too far of a drive for me.

I like you Mike (ABBstillrockin'), but with all do respect you are mighty quick to judge people's opinions and tell them what they should and shouldn't do or what their priorities should be just because it's different than yours. Most of your posts i like, so don't think this is a personal attack, please. I am in the same position. I am looking for a job and couldn't afford to spend 65 dollars on a DTB ticket. I am saving for an ABB ticket, which I would spend that much on. BTW, I wish they'd start playing Sailin' Cross the Devil's Sea like they were earlier in the year as well.

If i couldnt ever afford a DTB show i would do anything to get the money to go. This might sound funny but going to see them is like my personal church. It really is spiritually uplifting and it helps me out in other areas of my life. Its not just fun or interesting for me. Personally ive spent an ungodly amount of money to go see them. THe only time i dont go see them is when it will affect an equally important part of my life.
