I figure it's about time for this thread to pop up.

I'd like to see Sailin' Across The Devil's Sea brought back. I havn't seen them do that one in a while.

I'd also like to see the Derek & The Dominoes covers keep coming, so how about either Tell The Truth or Anyday?

And I'd like to hear them doing a full on version of My Favorite Things.

That is all for now.

How about the BB King Medley...

Win Lose or Draw would be another one that needs to come back....

Yeah, they haven't played Sailin' in a while, and I always liked that one. They did End of the Line at the Fox and I'd like that one to stick around, too. Also, maybe Heart of Stone and a Ray Charles number.

How about some of that new stuff written by band members - something's got to exist, let's hear it!

They manage to keep so much of their catalog in their rotation, it's hard to think of something they haven't done in a while. I guess Just Ain't Easy would be a nice addition. I always like Outskirts of Town, too. The Albert King fan in me loves it when they do Born Under a Bad Sign. Maybe they can do Blues at Sunrise one of these days.

While I love what the band is doing these days, the ultimate song any Allman fan would like is the day Dickey steps back on stage and they play Try It One More Time - but I'm not holding my breath for that to happen.

I'd like to see Jessica back in the rotation. Sailin Cross The Devil's Sea also needs to come back and End of the Line needs to be played more frequently (I think it was only played a few times in 2003).

Blue Sky. Love to hear Jessica back in the rotation as well. Please Call Home be nice to hear. I know it's a dickey tune that hasn't been played but I miss "Back Where it All Begins" and not sure if that would work witout Dickey anyway. A Dead tune would be nice too. I always look forward to what will be the new "surprise" cover at the beacon.

I want 2005 to be full of guests that haven't played with the ABB in a while. 2004 didn't have too many guests. I want them to ditch every single Dickey song they play. If you wanna hear those, go see Dickey. They have plenty of songs that they don't play for some reason.Adding more covers is probably the worst choice becuase mroe than half of their songs already are covers (if you include songs like Statesboro and Done Somebody Wrong). The covers they do now are pretty much note for note except for the solos. It'd be better if they reworked them. Whatever the ABB decide to do for Beaon '05 I'm sure it'll be mindblowing, and this year I'll be there to see it!

My Favorite Things is a good call, but once again I'll say True Gravity. The most Warren-oriented of Dickey songs, the songwriting credit is Betts/Haynes. This is also a song that Derek absolutely rips on, and those of us who remember 1996 know what a great improv vehicle it was that summer.

I would also like to see High Falls and Les Brers in the rotation, mixing up the instrumentals is key.

You've gotta be kidding.

Good call on Loan Me a Dime, that one's taking the place of Can't Lose What You Never Had on the top of my list.

The number one song I'd like them to play is one they haven't done since 1969 or 1970 -- Dimples. With Derek Trucks on vocals!!!!

Second is a full-blown My Favorite Things. Third is Kind of Bird.

For a new cover, how about Peter Green's Albatross? Can you imagine the soaring guitar solos on that incredible tune?

Hey Hophead, didn't Jack P. sing Dimples in 97 & 98?

Oops! Brain cramp again ...

On the other hand, DEREK has never sung it -- wouldn't it be a thrill to see him step to the microphone?

Oh come on, bringing back Blue Sky was monumental and its great to hear the new line up play it. I agree with bringing back Sailin' Across The Devil's Sea. That one's great. I would also like to hear End Of The Line and Firing Line...

I say, keep the Derek and The Dominos covers coming. Any Day, or Bell Bottom Blues would be great!
And please keep Look Who's Talking and Gilded (or Guilded!) Splinters.

I have been thinking about this lately. I am glad somebody started this thread!

-Tonight Iíll Be Staying Here With You- Bob Dylan
*1975 Rolling Thunder Revue Version. This would lend it
Self to the 3 man percussion section and Derek & Warren
playing slide would be nice.

-Waves Within>Look Up>Just In Time to See The Sun>Song Of the Wind>All The Love of the Universe -Santana. From the Caravanserai Album.
This shakes me up just thinking about the current line up playing a Santana number like this.

NYC Barb good call on Bell Bottom Blues, that would be very nice!

Excellent Thread!

Please no more Dead or Derek & the Dominos covers except for Layla once in a while.

I agree with True Gravity and also Sailin'. I would also like to hear Europa (Earth's Cry Heaven's Smile)- a way extended version. My Favorite Things would obviously be the ultimate.
