I'm torn ..I was at Friday nights show and Greggs presence was missed. The band went above and beyond and it was a great show. I dont think Gregg will be back this week, you dont need help getting into a van because you have bronchitis, you dont get flown out of NY because you have bronchitis. I think it something more serious. It doesnt feel right to have a Gregg-less final Beacon run.....

From the article below all seems like hes gonna finish the run. I went on the 12th and the 18th both outstanding shows, With the 18th being by far the best. Im going on the 26th and the 28th and even if i wasn't if there is no Gregg to finish the run they should most def 100% reschedule the shows for a later date.

How do play without the bands namesake and Only Allman brother in the band, I can see for one or 2 shows but no more. That would be a horrible way to wrap up a phenomenal 25yr run to which i have been to every one. With about 80shows under my belt and counting.

NEW YORK (AP) -- Bronchitis has sidelined Gregg Allman for at least two dates of the Allman Brothers Band's annual shows at the Beacon Theatre, but his rep says the musician hopes to return to the stage in a few days.

Allman was forced to sit out shows Friday and Saturday. Michael Lehman says Allman is under a doctor's care and is doing better and intends to return for the group's final four shows over the next week.

Lehman says the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer had been feeling fine up until the illness; the 66-year-old has had health issues in the past, including a 2010 liver transplant.

The band is celebrating its 45th anniversary this year. Its annual run at the Beacon started March 7 and wraps up March 29.

If Gregg cannot go for the final 4 shows, these shows should be postponed and scheduled for a later date. If Gregg can never go again, these shows should not ever happen.

When you have all of the health issues and a liver transplant that Gregg has had in recent years, every condition is far more serious and requires different attention that the average sickness.

Disagree on canceling. While I want Gregg to heal and to be at the shows (my wife and I have tix for 28,29) I would rather they do as they did this weekend and have some guests and do their best.

We are flying across the country for the shows... Rescheduling would mean that time off, not traveling for work, wife's mom has time to stay at our house and babysit kids, purchase new airfare, etc, etc to happen.

I survived and had a great time when who knew, no Dickey-add Zack Wylde and although the show was different and not exactly how I had wanted it to be-it was still the Allmans and a solid show.

It is likely the last touring year of the brothers and this is a part of that history and long road. Looking forward to it and hope that Gregg is healing and able to be there. Cheers.

I don't believe they should cancel any shows, but if Gregg makes a full recovery, as hoped, then perhaps a few more dates on tour would be a kind way to reconnect with those who missed him at the Beacon.

Two shows at Casino Rama, like 2007, would be a fine way to treat the Canucks who missed him at the Beacon.

Just because I live 45 minutes from that venue, doesn't mean I'm being self-serving.
I invite y'all to camp in my backyard if they do play there.

Look, I have seen at least 2 shows without Gregg over the years. I remember one where he played a couple songs and said he had to stop because he "Fell Off His Harley" and broke a rib.
My expectation for this run was low, mentally the band has moved on, for me this is more a celebration of the annual experience and seeing old friends in the Beacon for one last time then it is about seeing one last amazing show.
Gregg, Butch and Jaimoe are tired and old. IMO Derek, Warren, Oteil and Marc are tired of playing these songs.
So go to the Beacon see some familiar faces have a couple shots of Whiskey and enjoy the experience for one last time.

I have "Gold Seat Package" tickets ($$$$) , nonrefundable round trip airfare, nonrefundable hotel.

I'd rather find something else to do in NYC than go see a Tedeschi based Allman Brothers show. I just don't like her. Not what I bought tickets for. I'm not a TTB fan, and don't go see them when they play locally at Red Rocks. I'd much rather they postpone, and we'll find something else to do in NYC the 28th and 29th and come back for the real deal.

I SO hope Gregg gets better!!!!! If he has the same crap I had a few weeks back he won't be.

You may have to suffer through an evening of Warren and Derek playing some of the best guitar on the planet. You could skip that and catch a movie.

A movie wouldn't be the top of my list. ;-)

Besides, what I said is they should postpone. If they don't postpone I will go (which i am sure they are banking on). I'd rather go to a rescheduled show that includes Gregg.

One more item - seeing Warren Haynes and Derek Trucks isn't hard to do. I don't need to travel to NYC to do that. Seeing them play with Gregg Allman is a whole different story.

They won't cancel. They realize too many people have made huge travelling plans to make these shows. And after seeing the last 2 shows, I'm not sure they would need to anyway.

While seeing Warren and Derek with their own bands may not be so rare, seeing them together may be, and they have special chemistry.

They should postpone the shows until Gregg,Jai and Butch get younger. Oh wait.

Do people really not grasp this is why Warren and Derek are doing what they are doing? They hoped this kind of thing would not happen and are doing everything in their power to cope with it. Postponing shows that could very well have a recurrence of this type issue at the later date makes no sense. This is 100% why it is time to let go.

Good point about letting go. Just glad I got to see my two favorite Abb shows in the last 10 years. Actually best shows I have attended period. I actually prefer this past weekend over what I imagine it would have been with Gregg in attendance but definitely looking forward to seeing Gregg at Wanee

this is how I see it . Gregg isn't the only one in the band you have jaimoe and butch that are founding members . warren has been in the band longer then duane was and berry and if it wasn't for warren this band would be no where right now . Greggs vocals are a big part of the band but his playing doesn't make a difference he hits a solo here and there but its the same solo he does over and over so really no lose when it comes to the playing side of it . his vocals on songs will be missed. there are people coming in all over the world spending tons of money for these shows and if they are going to cancel them then what are they waiting for . the longer they wait the more there going to screw people . I hope Gregg gets better and can make the shows but I don't think they should be canceling them due to one person in the band being ill. when dickey was out they replaced him right away with jimmy herring and the tour went on . barracco has been doing a great job on the keys and so has kofi . well that my 2 cents

Were the shows Tedeschi based? I didn't get that impression from the folks who were there.

she sang two songs Saturday night. (admittedly I love Susan and TTB so this wouldnt bother me) Dont quite think it constitutes the ABB being based around Susan however
