If you have the channel AXS, check out the Warren Haynes Christmas jam tonight. It airs from 6:30 to 2:30am. Acts include Sherl Crow, Karl Denson, Anders Osbourne, String Cheese Incident, Blind Boys of Alabama, Avett Brothers, Trombone Shorty & the Warren Haynes Band. Great night of music with proceeds benefiting the Habitiat For Humanity charity. This is the 24th year Warren has done this Benefit Jam show.

Avetts are spectacular as always.

Man, I'm glad I've never been on TV while in the crowd of a show. People look so damn goofy bopping around in the crowd!

The Jam has been great! I particularly enjoyed the Blind Boys and the Avett Bros. Too bad they can't just show a fireplace and play some Christmas music during the set breaks.

Or talk about Warren's charity, Habitat for Humanity. The intermission coverage is awful.

Sci w/ Anders Osborne was good when they broke into Jonko Pardner. TheCount omthat last song wasn't too special.

I am very much enjoying the String Cheese Incident. Loved the Anders Osborne sit in. Not a Sheryl Crow fan, didn't dig her set. Her singing & musicianship seems completely sub par compared to everyone else - the same thing at Crossroads 2010. Different strokes. Loved the Blind Boys of Alabama and the Avrett (sp?) Brothers.

SCI w/Anders reminded me a lot of vintage Little Feat when they were jamming. Very nice.

I thought the Averett brothers were a waste of time. Enjoying String Cheese Incident best since Crow they keep you grooving.

The intermission is just awful. The people tuned into the Jam can care less about the mainstream pop music.

Great concert, the intermissions really sucked. I liked the way the 12-12-12 concert worked it.

Karl Denson sat in with several of the bands including the WHB and he was smokin hot.

I agree the set breaks were bad but I have no complaints. I just turned the sound down and moved about the house until the concert began again. I'm certainly not going to whine about having a free HD broadcast of the Xmas Jam delivered to my living room. I've been to the Xmas Jam and I've got to say that for me last night's broadcast was much more enjoyable than being there. It's such a long show in a crowded uncomfortable venue that being there becomes a tortuous marathon, at least for a achy grumpy old fart like me. I'll happily take a free broadcast with crappy set breaks any day.

watched up until about midway through SCI - will see the rest on DVR today.

great show, psyched that I got to see it.

intermissions were pretty bad. Had to LOL at the guy who said he thought Adam Sandler was inappropriate when they were talking about 12/12/12. The response was - hey, this is a rock concert - if your not offended a little they didn't do their job.
thought Sandler was funny, myself

Enjoyed the show very much. However, did anyone else notice sound issues at times? For instance, on more than one occasion it was as if one channel of the sound wasn't being amplified via the satelite feed ( I have Dish Network and not cable) loudly enough. Several times I could barely hear guitar solos and/or fills coming through the mix. This was most evident to me during Crowe's set whenever her lead guitarist was soloing or playing some sweet slide in the background. It occurred a few times when Warren was guesting with other acts too.

I'm sure this wasn't noticeable in the venue but only via the broadcast. Apparently the same issue happened during the Tedeschi/Trucks Band show from Red Rocks a few months ago. Just curious if I'm the only one who had such issues?

The only time I noticed a sound issue was at the start of the 2nd or 3rd SCI song (the one the bass player sang) the vocals were barely audible for the first minute of the song. Then it seemed OK after that. I was watching on DirecTV. The other thing was the sound was much louder during the breaks than during the show, which was a nuisance until I finally just started hitting the mute button during the breaks.
