I went to see Emmylou Harris last night in Richmond. From the first tune to the last she and her band had the crowd in their hands . Song after song they got better and better. She did several tunes from her latest record ( Hard Bargain ) and pulled tunes from her storied catalog and some cool covers to wow one of the largest crowds I've ever seen at Lewis Ginter Botanocal Gardens. Despite the oven like temperatures she and her band tore it up. If they are coming to a venue near you, GO see this show. You won't be disappointed.

I saw her once before at Chastain a couple years ago, and was just AMAZED how fine her voice sounds. that lilt just rolls out and wraps you up...

She is great. I saw her at Merlefest a couple yrs ago. While watching her sit in w/ the Waybacks and singing Wild Horses (sweet!), a nearby woman out of nowhere says to me, "I'm not a lesbian, but I could totally get with her!"

Enjoy the Garden Downsouth. I saw Steve Earle there last Fri, my first visit. And the weather was cool, thankfully.

saw her open in central park for levon helm on monday nite. she actually played a longer set than levon and i think she was actually better received by the crowd. Of course it started raining when Levon's band was playing. It was a great night and with no expectations, emmylou was excellent.
