makes for a very expensive & short Mule show, 45-60min tops.

on the other hand, if you really just want to "hear" the mule, then go to the non-lakewood parking lot on the left side of the stage (stage right), and you can "hear" them for free, and drink cooler beer!! - just like we did for the abb/dmb @ piedmont park!!!

whenever Mule opens up for DMB Warren always comes out to play a few songs... probably the best DMB show you could go to.

Also you have to imagine the mule will do a tour around then also... makes you wonder when the ABB summer tour will be? Those DMB shows are the heart of the summer.

I would not walk across the street to catch a DMB tour! I hope the Mule gets a nice big fat check for this tour but not dropping any of my cash that might benefit the DMB. This is good exposure for the Mule as many a casual DMB fan may not have ever caught the Mule. However, as a Mule Fan, I am bummed to catch a short show with the Mule opening for the most over rated band in the world. Opinions may vary...... I know Warren is a fan of the DMB but that does nothing to sway my opinion.

Geez! Warren what the hell are you thinking? Warming up for anybody has not won Mule any dividends whether it's Trey, DMB or Panic. Additionally, DMB was completely disrespectful of the Brothers at Piedmont when you gave them absolutely no sound when it was supposed to billed as a double ticket. The Brothers gave you your start and you slight them in return.

This is not cool.

The DMB put downs just amaze me. One of the best bands out there on the circuit today. Give it a fair chance, don't base it on radio hits or your impression of the sterotypical DMB fan. A great band and as someone else mentioned, you can guarantee a Warren sit in, with plenty of room for him to stretch out. Should be great shows, IMO.

Not a real big fan of DMB, but after Warren Dave is probably the hardest working musician in the business.

**** All due respect my friend, I have given them 3 chances (live) to show me what the the fuss is all about and I walked away each time convinced that I dislike the band and the scene. Their fan base at Piedmont Park was downright rude to the ABB legacy and the bands actions towards the Brother's was weak on soooo many levels. The DMB is a busy band indeed but that don't impress me much ( sorry for the Shania Twain reference). They do strech it out but it goes freaking nowhere! In my humble opinion, they can't touch the power, talent and majesty of the Mule. There is no comparison in any category. I hope the Mule cashes a FAT check from this pairing and some DMB fans get their eyes opened up to this generations Led Zeppelin!

MULE FANS.... DON"T DRINK THE WATER INDEED!

I really just hope this doesn't blow our shot at a full fledged mule show in the Atl. We got those rockin masquerade marathons the last 2 years which were absolutely incredible. IF we can't get that show back, maybe we can go back to the 2 night run in the fall????? please warren????? don't let this be our only Atlanta gig.

I agree with the DMB bashers as far as my personal music choices go, but he is definitely one damn good person.

My wife was just telling me that Warren Haynes has played with Dave Mathews 36 times previously.

I won't be able to take only 45 minutes of Mule though. I think I would go crazy!!!!!

the DMB music is boring and dry he is agreat person but a concert is not about a persons goodness or not it is about music like it or not i tried it once it bored me to tears we walked out and the audience is another reason to avoid his shows.. the Mule are better than that..

Man, somebody after my own heart. I couldn't have said it better!

( I would've liked to have seen that JH/M show though.)

It is obvious that Warren enjoys playing with Dave as he has played quite often with him. Howver, the Mule has spoiled the ATL with epic shows at the Masquerade and the Tabernacle. These shows rocked you down to the bone and had an incredible vibe from the fans ( in fact the Mule was bringing out some mighty fine looking women!). Opening for rhe DMB is well beneath the Mule these days. Their show blows away the grinding and irritating music of the DMB. It is a tired tale of knocking a bands fan base, but their fan base is filled with posers, talkers and very inmature socialiites. The Mule fan base at the Tabernacle were grooving their arses off! Not much chhatting or posing at a Mule show. There are some savy music fans at a Mule Show.

ATL needs a real MULE show!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'd say bashing another band repeatedly is not so mature.... But what do I know.

You're doing Gov't Mule a great dis-service by comparing them to Led Zep. The Mule is much much better.

That is a bold statement as the Mule pays great respect to this band. They certainly ripped a few songs from the Old Dukers but Zepp changed a generation,. The Mule has carried on this legacy. Like or hate Zepp, they changed the scene.

Can you honestly debate the comment made about the fan base at a DMB show? It is hard to argue the facts. You never will see that kind of playing and goofing around a at a Mule show. Lighten up Moe fan, we have alreday covered our love for your band

Nope, I have been to many a DMB shows... I am in the same boat as you for my opinion on a lot of their fans... Last year my wife saw 3 different people get puked on all at once.

Bah, I like moe just okay... You won't hurt my feelings there. Moe was a nickname from back in highschool, that is where that came from.

Funny coincidence Moe is just fine as an opener but no way in hell do I want them closing out a Mule Show

Peace!

I can understand that a lot of folks don't like DMB, and I remember all too clearly that the Piedmont Park show left a bad taste in some people's mouths. However, Dave is a talented and prolific songwriter, praised by not only Warren but Gregg Allman as well, and his band features some of the best in the business. Carter Beauford, Jeff Coffin, etc aren't exactly a bunch of hacks.

Besides, opening for the biggest-grossing touring band of the last decade isn't "beneath" anybody, except maybe U2 or the Rolling Stones.

Whatever you think of the DMB fans, they know and respect Warren from his long association with Dave, and I'm betting they will be excited for this double bill.
