I like the songs that didn't make the Laid Back album. Wasted Words is cool but the ABB version turned out real well and one of the last things for Berry Oakley.

I Never Knew How Much should have been a big hit for Gregg or someone. Never thought it ever got the right treatment in the studio. The one on Brothers of the Road is a highlight of that album, probably the ABB studio album that just didn't come together more so than the others are lacking, but I always thought it could have been done better in the studio. And maybe it was a song that should have been on a Gregg solo record. Nonetheless, a great Gregg composition.

yep, & w/a rhythm section of Berry Oakley & Buddy Miles
Good to see that Never Knew How Much demo released - sure sat on the shelf long enough! (1974-81 ABB, then the demo itself included on One More Try along w/that Wasted Words)
