Yes Gregg was wanting to leave the Allman Brothers in 2009. The little story was circulating here and there in 2008. Also we were hearing Warren and Derek were ready to move on. Warren said someone got cold feet and talked them into going 5bmore years and after the Beacon they would cut the number of shows during the summer would be cut down. Then Warren said when the 5 years was up that person got cold feet again. (He was talking about Butch)
But here Gregg said he agreed to keep the ABB going for a few more years because the 2009 40th anniversary shows went so well. Also Gregg said he didn't miss the ABB at all. They should have done what Warren suggested back in the 90's and take a year or two off here and there like the Stones and other big bands. But Warren also said by 1992 they had so many people working for the band, counting on the band for their living, they had to tour each year
