Guns N' Roses Confirm Canadian Tour Dates
Planet Rock is reporting the much rumored, oft delayed and seemingly unlikely Guns N Roses live dates have finally been confirmed.

The band will play thirteen dates in Canada as part of a wider Chinese Democracy World Tour.

The shows kick off early in 2010 in Winnipeg and dates have been set for the rest of January and early February.

Judging by the fact that the dates have been announced as part of a “World Tour” it would suggest that the band will announcing more dates in the very near future.

According to the press release for the tour, the band will be made up of Axl Rose, Frank Ferrer, Tommy Stinson, Richard Fortus, Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal, Dizzy Reed, and Chris Pitman plus new guitarist DJ Ashba, who joined earlier this year. They will apparently start rehearsals in LA very shortly.

Chinese Democracy was released in November 2008, fifteen years after GNR’s previous studio album. They last toured in 2006.

Here are the Canadian tour dates:

January
13 - Winnipeg, MB - MTS Centre
16 - Calgary, AB - Pengrowth Saddledome
17 - Edmonton, AB - Rexall Place
19 - Saskatoon, SK - Credit Union Centre
20 - Regina, SK - Brandt Centre
24 - Hamilton, ON - Copps Coliseum
25 - London, ON - John Labatt Centre
27 - Montreal, PQ - Bell Centre
28 - Toronto, ON - Air Canada Centre
31 - Ottawa, ON - Scotiabank Place

February
1 - Quebec City, PQ - Colisee Pepsi
3 - Moncton, NB - Moncton Coliseum
4 - Halifax, NS - Metro Centre

Odd no Vancouver show. NOT!!!! The GnR riot is still in the papers out here.

Will these shows sell??? Maybe in Regina and Moncton?

Not interested.

I really think Chinese Democracy is a pretty good album. I'm a big fan of Buckethead and thought he did a great job at lead.

Bucket sure did do a great job on the album. Many songwriting credits and great leads.

Well, it looks like Robin Finck is no longer in GnR. Such a shame because now he won't be around anymore to ruin solo's.

last tour they canceled the MCI center show in DC ,because there was a riot in philly when Axl wanted to watch the Lakers on TV instead of doing the show.

TIcketmaster never sent me an alert and I wasted good herb on a metro ride to nowhere.

never again.

This is Axl Rose and Friends, not Guns 'N' Roses as far as I'm concerned.

I'm still listening to Chinese Democracy...I think it's unfairly caught a lot of negative response....I'll go see them if they're doing Memphis....

If you're comfortable with G'N'R with 1 original member, how about G'N'R with no original members.............playing at a bar near you for a lot less ca$h.

There is only one way that tickets should be sold for this. They take your credit card number, and it's only charged AFTER the show, IF the band actually shows up.

also a big fan of Slash's Snake Pit....personally,i thought Velvet Revolver was pretty weak, considering the musicians & front man involved.

Sorry but most of the gigs will sell well - if not all of them.
There is still demand in the name - only no shame in booking the AXL ROSE band.

Great business move - tour more than one year after your disc drops. Pure genius. Dare your fans to forget about you and then dare them to come out to the gigs.

yeah i have to agree Hugh went to see Velvet Revolver last year and musically they were real tight but Scott Wieland is hit or miss...I seen Stone temple pilots four times and only one of the shows he was sober its sad to see so much potential in an artist go up in smoke...

by the way HUGH did you get your NMAS tics for minglewood Dec19?

I agree, I listen to it regularly. The recording is really quite good for a new album, the dynamic range is awesome, especially when you compare it to the newest Stripes cd and the RHCP cd. Unfortunately, because of the irresponsibility Axl has shown towards fans in the past, I'll only consider going at the last minute, if I'm sure he's arrived in town, lol.

If there's any schenanigans before the Toronto show, I won't even bother. While I'll support Chinese Democracy because I think it's very well done, I won't support a tour that doesn't respect the fans.

While the new album has its moments (it should after ten years in the making), I agree that this is Axl rose and friends. No interest here. Got Metallica tonight and the Mule tomorrow night!!

I don't blame Axl for going on without Slash....if you read Slash's bio, you'll see the guy was a waste case. Neither has reached Guns and Roses attitude with their later stuff, but I give Axl plenty of credit for writing and recording an album that sounds excellent.
