Just wondering what artists would be part of the jam band scene if it were the late 1960 and early 1970s, besides the Allmans and Grateful Dead. Three bands that come to mind would be Traffic, Santana and Savoy Brown.

A couple of groups that my father liked were Love, Spirit and the Chambers Brothers.

Somehow or another Gov't Mule gets lumped under the "Jam Band" umbrella. So if I use them as a reference you would have to put Cream and Led Zeppelin in this category too.

The Lemon Pipers. Don't let their over-produced big radio hit, Green Tambourine fool ya. This band could do some serious jamming.
