Since the ABB have been making Instant live cd's since 2003. what is your favorite one??

I haven't listened to a lot of them, but the 2007 new orleans jazz fest is mine.

I have about a dozen in all and I find that Jones Beach from 2004 is probably my most played mostly for the incredible Mountain Jam > Afro Blue > Mountain Jam > Whipping Post finale followed by Layla as the encore.

Lots of good ones over the years, but here are a few that stand out...

The 8/10/03 show with Branford Marsalis is one of my favorite guest spots. His sax playing adds so much to "Dreams" and "Whipping Post."

The Fox shows from 2004 were very special. I'm partial to 9/26/04. Lots of long jams and good interplay between the band members at that show.

I'm a big "Egypt" fan, and there were a lot of good shows in 2005 with that song. The 7/24/05 show, which was out of print for a while but is now back in stock, has great versions of "Egypt" and "High Cost Of Low Living," as well as a killer "Layla" encore and excellent versions of "Jessica" and "Whipping Post." Definitely one of my favorites from recent years.

The Jazz Fest show is definitely a keeper from last year, and the 8/15/07 Burgettstown show and the 8/19/07 Darien Lake show are other good ones.

Last but certainly not least, the whole Fall 2008 tour was solid gold, and I'm really enjoying these shows so much! The 9/30 Merriweather Post show and the 10/4 Charlotte show really stand out, and of course the Atlanta shows were amazing.

Sorry to be so long-winded, but since you asked

I agree too, The Fox in 04 and maybe Red Rocks the same year.

There are so many now and all of them are great.

The sound on the discs I have from last year are the best I've heard yet, so I recommend anything from 2007...

I got a chance to really listen to the 10/8/08 Orange Beach show for the first time today, and all I can say is HOLY COW! That is a really outstanding show, possibly the sleeper of '08.

These versions of "Why Does Love Got To Be So Sad?" and "Black Hearted Woman" are off the hook, and a great "Jessica" (almost 17 minutes with no drum solo) and a SWEET acoustic version of "Preachin' Blues" make this a show to savor.

What a Fall Tour! Like I've said, you could put all the shows from that tour on a dartboard, throw a dart, and hit an outstanding show.

Hittin' the Note indeed!

I definitely second the Raleigh/Charlotte '03 shows: Charlotte's 39-minute Mountain Jam followed by Layla encore is out of this world, and Raleigh's Branford Marsalis appearance on Dreams and Whipping Post is great.

But really I still think the Fox Box is where its at... all three are great but to me the middle one (9/25/04) stands out as one of the absolute best shows in my entire collection. Disc 3 of that show is one of the single best discs of music I have ever heard: Blue Sky (1st time played without Dickey), Dreams, Les Brers, followed by a scorching Layla encore. Incredible!
