Now compare that chorus to the one in Bob Marley's Buffalo Soldier.

My earliest TV memories are of "Prince Planet," a grainy cartoon I can remember watching in black and white on channel 44 in Chicago after White Sox games.

After that, it would probably be a toss-up between HR Puff N'Stuff and Beanie and Cecil.

I probably caught a "second wind" of the Banana Splits, late 70's or so. Edit: I used to like the shorts about Tom Sawyer, Huck Finn and Becky Thatcher - one of my earliest memories of mixing animation with live-action.

Now I've got that frickin' theme song stuck in my head, and I didn't even watch the link! A buddy of mine got PO'd when he was about 10 yrs. old because one of LBJ's daughters got married on a Saturday, and only having about 4 TV channels to choose from in those days, all were covering the White House wedding. He wrote a letter to LBJ complaining about going to school all week, and having his Saturday cartoons with the Banana Splits mentioned preempted. He said he worked hard all week, and why couldn't his daughter get married on a Friday. He still has the letter framed on a wall. LBJ wrote him back and apologized to Bob for missing his cartoons. He also apologized to Bob for missing his Banana Split!

HR Puff 'n' Stuff was classic. I used to watch that religiously on Saturday mornings. When I see it now on occasion it seems to be a stoner show with lots of drug references.
