A friend of mine, who should know, told me the Piedmont Park show is sold out! I went on Ticketmaster and couldn't get any tickets. I'm guessing there are some on hold that will be released closer to the event.

I am guessing ... NO! PREDICTING - that there will be gate crashers at this show. Greenstock 2007! I hope I'm wrong, but ...

No big loss for me! It's gonna be hotter than hell in Atl the second weekend of Sept. at 5:00 PM, plus the parking hassles, plus the DMB crowd to deal with.

I'm planning a trip to Carolina for 2 shows instead.

Too many negative statements, not enough positive ones. How about, "the Allmans in Piedmont Park!"

I'll manage any heat or crowd for that.

I'm still gonna give it a whirl. Allmans in Atlanta last year was the best Warren/Derek show I'd seen
In in the morning, out that night. Thank you MARTA.

Amen debojenkins! You could live in a city where The Brothers haven't played in years. At least Atlanta does get an ABB show, or two, or three, every year...

I will have an extra presale $45 for sale. My friend decided not to go and now I will be there for just the ABB part (if they can get 50K people) in the venue before the ABB is on and off the stage!!!I will be getting out of there fast as I can after the ABB and heading to Maconga to see Blueground Undergrass.

No need for gate crashing, there's plenty of room in the park to hang out and enjoy this. Hot'lanta indeed!!!!!!

I know that I will hate this later, but I just can't bring myself to wanna go to this show. It's gonna be hot, very crowded, and I just don't think it is gonna have the same feel that the old piedmont shows would have. I hope I don't get flamed for this, but I just think I am gonna pass on ATL this year. I almost feel like I blaspheemed or something.

Versus the feel at Lakewood? The energy at this show will be unreal. My guess is the Brothers play one for the ages.

I agree, I think the ABB will play a very powerful, yet classic, show with the stage energy of a Beacon show. Whether people like it or not, sharing the bill with the DMB will bring an entirely new audience to the ABB and they are smart enough to know that and capitalize on it.

hot, crowded, loud, rowdy. oh NO!!! boo frickin' hoo.

it most definitely will be AN EXPERIENCE.

I can see some gates getting crashed and or 'negotiated.' I can also see some cops/security (oftentimes the same thing/off duty) getting rowdy rowdy in their 'regulation.'

have fun.

Loud and crowded? uuuuuuuh, it's a concert....... They tend to be loud and sometimes crowded (hard to believe I know). As far as aggressive security, do not break the law and you stand a good chance of not getting hassled. Crash a gate or break out a hooka bong right in the middle of the park, you just might just find yourself in hot water. Jeez Louise!

I'm going to the show but I don't blame you. The music will be great, no doubt. But with the 530pm ABB start, and 3pm gate opening for general admission, and 50k, you know this is the hottest part of the day. The energy will be from el sol in a corral of mostly DMB fans. I'm pretty sure Duane and BO are not going to descend from the heavens and sit in.

We may be doing something at the Hotel where Helen is staying at, which I don't remember which one right now. We'll let everybody know, will have to be early since the ABB play early.

Somehow I think we will be in line to get into the concert area for most of the day. I know it said no backpacks but blankets were ok. How are we supposed to carry all that stuff we need to eat and drink in line. I guess I will keep a sandwich and a drink in my blanket.

There are special club shows planned for both September 7th and 8th, Dancinggirl!

Details are still being worked out for the 7th, but Col. Bruce Hampton, Bonobos Convergence and Tony Tyler are definitely on for September 8th at Smith's Olde Bar.
