Just got back a little while ago. Just figured I'd say that I was blown away by the band. I knew Gregg would be great, he always is, but I had no idea what to expect from the band. I figured they'd be good, but didn't know they'd be that good. They played some really awesome blues at the beginning, a nice mix of slow/sad and up beat songs. Some variations of originals were good...like Don't Keep Me Wondering, but I didn't like the rendition of Whipping Post as much. Overall though a fantastic show, I"ll just leave it at that. Oh yeah and the Keswick theatre is beautiful, unfortunately I got lost going there, ended up in a real sketchy part of town scared to death. We missed the first couple minutes of Devon, which was sad, but watched them tear it up at the end of their set. Great to see the band live after the little late night jam at Wanee with them.

Thought the show was good - not great. 1st time hearing Honeytribe. I liked them and thought they had a good sound. My only complaint - was there a reason why all the band left the stage for 5 minutes leaving just the drummer and bass player? If there was no reason, I recommend not doing that in future - you have 45 minutes to showcase your band - why waste 5 minutes of it - not like they needed a break after playing for a half hour. GA was great. I thought the guitar player was so-so and there were many times (especially Don't Keep Me Wonderin') when I was aching to hear DT and WH on guitar. I didn't really like the alt. version to Stateboro Blues but loved it when they switched to a more traditional jamming version of it halfway thru. Other highlights - Melissa, Midnight Rider, Lovelight. Gregg sounded awesome - the best I've heard in a while. Near end of show he suggested an appearance with Mule tonight after his show. Should be a fun night in NYC - I'll be down at the Linc' watching the Birds. Happy New Year!

Hey dad, this came up in another thread- the GAF NYE show in Long Island ends early, so there's plenty of time for Gregg to truck over to the Beacon to guest with Mule. Hae a great time tonight!

I went to last night's show with the wife, daughters and daughter's boyfriends. I liked Devon a lot. Gregg was pretty good. Bass baritone sax is something you don't hear in bands too much and this was pretty good. I liked the shake up with the ABB standards. Also it was a different look for Gregg being out front for a few songs with a strat not just the acoustic.

Near end of the Keswick show Gregg announced his New Year's Eve show and mentioned that the Mule is playing nearby and "who know's what may happen". Sounds like a pretty good bet he may sit in with Mule for some songs at the end of the show. I'll be checking in here tomorrow to read what happened. Have fun!

He said in an interview, "I'm gonna bust my a$$ to get there," referring to the Mule show tonight. Should be a lot of fun!
