When SportsNation was asked if the Nuggets would win a championship with Allen Iverson, 68% responded yes. To this, Stephen A. Smith emphatically responded: "I don't know what 70% of America is doing drinking at 2 PM, and I don't know why 70% of America is smoking crack, but..."

I personally think that the trade makes them better, but not good enough. You've still got a team with Duncan, Ginobili, and Parker. You've still got a team with Nash, Amare, and Marion. You've still got a team with Kobe Bryant (good enough in itself). I think they'll be good but not be the best in the league.

I thought Denver gave up a little much for him.

The suspensions, especially Anthony, put them in a bind. It'll be interseting to see how AI and Carmelo share the ball.

I hope I am wrong being in Denver, but I had hoped the Nuggets would NOT find a way to make the trade. Now I hope for the best.

As a Sixers fan, I will miss AI but look forward to the change. The team could only get better by getting worse first and getting cap room and draft picks (wish he was staying in the East so we could face him more). I hope AI gets a ring in Denver but with all the talent in the West it won't be easy. He does share the ball a lot but in Philly, he'd pass the ball and the players would hold it and do nothing until they would pass it back to AI with 3 seconds were left on the clock and he'd have to take a desperation shot - Carmelo won't do that. He wasn't the best at "practice" but he always gave 100% effort in games.

Jack, I agree wholeheartedly.

Being near Syracuse, I'll always thank Melo for taking SU on his back and getting us a national championship.

I don't believe AI is the answer, pun intended.

Sure hope Melo doesn't suffer because of it.

The good news for Denver is that if they don't get better with AI, George Karl could just blame it on Isiah Thomas.

I really don't think he will. I think it'll be good for both of them.

I wish AI luck. That guy can play and he leaves all he's got on the court.

I haven't had the pleasure of hearing any of that.

I just hope we haven't shot ourselves in the foot in the Greg Oden sweepstakes. The Sixers were a lock!

Carmelo will be gone by mid season next year. AI rules!

Better play with two basketballs with he and Anthony on the court at the same time. Personally though, I've always thought Iverson plays hard on both ends of the court. I was hoping the Cavs would land him (potentially not enough turntables though with he and Usher associated with the same team).

George Karl will never coach a champion. After watching the head games he plays with his players in Seattle and Milwaukee, I just don't see it happening. That said, it definately helps Denver. The west is tough and this eases the next 15 games for the Nuggets big time.

AI is definately in a better spot, too. I mean, Philly is behind New York and the Knicks are an average WNBA team at best (very lucky to be in the worst conference in the league).

That said, the big question here is will Joe Smith finally bring the rings home to Philly?
