I have to change the radio station every time they start playing Def Leppard. I hate that overrated band. I also turn off the radio or change it when they start playing "When the Bullet Hits The Bone" by Golden Earring. It amazes me how so much garbage gets grouped in with the classic rock format. And I also usually turn off Motley Crue.

Just one off the top of my head:

Moons of Jupiter by Train.

I absolutely hate that song. I hate the music I hate the lyrics. I hate the vocals with that Yeah yeah that ends in a drawn out ay sound....phoney attempted emotion...prefabricated for mega chart success.

I'd rather listen to dueling buzzsaws at close range

"Curse Train. We hates it forever" as Gollum would say.....

Thanks Rebel. I feel better now....

Radio is for when I left my cdrs or cds at the house, or when I am stuck in a car or truck without a cd player. NO, I don't listen to the radio either. Luckily though now the crappy and perverse tag team shock jocks "Lex and Terry" have moved from Rock 105 to Planet radio and 107.7. I HATE those shock jock perverts dispensing their Howard Stern morality. THEY SUCK and at least they are not now on Rock 105 which is 104.5 the radio station that introduced me to FM rock and roll when I was growing up. Now Rock 105 in Jacksonville, Florida has a new group of djs. There is now a group of three disc jockeys. Two are guys and there is one gal. One guy has a disturbing name of Dahmer. YIKES. Last week there was some debate over a girl who called in and won some quote FREE Concert tickets. It seems she agreed to wear a DIRTY DIAPER on her head. There was debate over whether she should have to wear the diaper and they debate scooping out the contents of the diaper. And if you think this is gross you haven't heard the syndicated Lex and Terry show. The new folks on the radio in the morning at Rock 105 are lot less insulting. That topic was actually just one of their more disgusting moments. Usually the three are more family oriented, or they are compared to Lex and Terry. And the thing is when these guys get together they are actually funny. Lex and Terry always tried to force laughs, but usually their act was just simply nauseating and perverse. That is my opinion.

LOL !...

My brain transposed this one with a song called Moons of Jupiter by a Boston band called Scruffy the Cat.

Regarding Chuck, (in Johnny Carson voice) " I did not know that..."

Maybe I should change that to I still hate the song except for whoever that great keyboard player is...

Drops of Jupiter ... really? I like the lyrics

Now that she's back in the atmosphere
With drops of Jupiter in her hair, hey, hey
She acts like summer and walks like rain
Reminds me that there's time to change, hey, hey
Since the return from her stay on the moon
She listens like spring and she talks like June, hey, hey

Tell me did you sail across the sun
Did you make it to the Milky Way to see the lights all faded
And that heaven is overrated

Tell me, did you fall for a shooting star
One without a permanent scar
And did you miss me while you were looking at yourself out there

Now that she's back from that soul vacation
Tracing her way through the constellation, hey, hey
She checks out Mozart while she does tae-bo
Reminds me that there's time to grow, hey, hey

Now that she's back in the atmosphere
I'm afraid that she might think of me as plain ol' Jane
Told a story about a man who is too afraid to fly so he never did land

Tell me did the wind sweep you off your feet
Did you finally get the chance to dance along the light of day
And head back to the Milky Way
And tell me, did Venus blow your mind
Was it everything you wanted to find
And did you miss me while you were looking for yourself out there

Can you imagine no love, pride, deep-fried chicken
Your best friend always sticking up for you even when I know you're wrong
Can you imagine no first dance, freeze dried romance five-hour phone conversation
The best soy latte that you ever had . . . and me

Tell me did the wind sweep you off your feet
Did you finally get the chance to dance along the light of day
And head back toward the Milky Way

Well NYC isn't much far as radio stations go .... If I should find my way to Q104 and hear one of the following artists (this is my shortened list) , Billy Joel, Supertramp, Pink Floyd, Springstein, Stones, Sting, Phil Collins or Van Halen I go digging for the CD case.

Often wondered if any of the attending, out of town, Beacon crowd wonders why poor Maria Melito gets boo'd every year when she walks on stage. She's a sweet lady - just works for a radio station that doesn't represent the music we listen to despite calling themselves a classic rock station

This will probably not go too well with some AB fans
here ... but for me personally "Ramblin' Man" is one
song that I've heard just waaay too often. When the
local Atlanta 96Rock DJ promises some "Allman Brothers
after we come back from commercial break" ... it is just
so predictably either "Ramblin' Man" or maybe "Jessica".
About the only time I ever consistently hear Duane on the
radio is when they do "Layla".

Is this the song Jagger sings about what makes him hard? If he means anything other than rigamortis, the image disturbs me coming from him

The only radio I listen to is talk radio. Music radio has sucked for years. Besides, between my CD collection and all the downloads like Mule Tracks and all the bootlegs I have I don't have time for radio with all their ads and limited playlists. On occasion I might listen to WUSB which is a local college radio station (Stony Brook) that has some cool blues and R&B shows.

Anymore, don't listen to radio much, except some Blues and Jazz on WPFW 89.3, when I can pick that station up, and occasionally the "Eclectic Lunch" on WARW 94.7, especially if they have a good theme going or a good guest DJ (Warren Haynes was one of the guest DJs that they had and it was a great show that day). Other than that, the only time the radio get's listen to is for weather and traffic reports.

That song would be "Love is Strong" from 1994. That is actually a GREAT Stones song and a GREAT Mick Jagger vocal. It is also a SUPREME video. However, that "make me hard" lyric is completely gross and uncalled for. That line nearly ruins a GREAT Stones moment.

Well...I don't listen to the radio anymore myself, but, when I did, I'd almost wreck turning it off when "Blinded By the Light" by Manfred Mann came on. I HATE that song.

Where I live, the stations just downright suck unless your into Judas Priest, ACDC, all the likes and the new speed metal stuff with endless screams and warbles.
