What the @*#k! I seen the commercial tonight. If I was an artist I wouldn't mind if someone was wanting to use me to sell their product but Bob Dylan, it just seems wrong.

The song he was singing reminded me a lot of 'Trouble No More.'

saw that last night too. thought it was weird. saw the usa today at work and read the article / interview dylan did about his new record. he mentions this topic and brought a new angle to it.

Dylan: "A lot of people are very protective of what they've got and rightfully so. But so much has been done to me and to my work, and it's been exploited on such grandiose levels with no thought of me, that you get to a point where you don't care anymore. Anything that comes your way is better than somebody taking it theirs way."

"I don't care about image. I don't have any image problem. It matters not to me which commercials or movies or tv shows they're in or not in or how many are being sung in clubs or school plays."

well, he obviously didn't mind doing it so why get all ticked about it??? Lord knows he wouldn't do it if he didn't want to.

I'm not ticked I don't even blame him I would do the same. I just thought he would be one of these artist like Neil Young who hates people using their music to market products. Bob this notes for you!

Actually, he appeared in a Victoria's Secret ad a year or two ago, singing "Love Sick" from the '99 album Time Out of Mind. Some fans on one of his message boards were outraged. Then somebody brought up a quote from an interview with Dylan about 40 years go, where he said something like the only thing he'd ever do an ad for would be "women's undergarments." That Bob, he's a real jokester.

There was even a rumor around that time that he was negotiating to be one of the judges on "American Idol."

Why? Everytime Dylan does something like this, someone says great or it's all right. Why Bob and no one else. I would fall over dead if Neil Young did this.

I haven't seen the ad, so I had to look it up...

"Apple has debuted a new silhouette-style television commercial for iTunes and the iPod featuring a partially silhouetted Bob Dylan wearing an iPod while performing a song from his new album, Modern Times, reports iProng. This ad differs from any of Apple’s previous silhouette ads in that the ad features mostly black and white coloring as opposed to the traditional pink, yellow, blue, and green, the article adds."
