I would love a copy of the Out of Madness CD. I ordered a copy via this website's merchandise page. Sadly, I received a letter saying the album was on backorder. I also then noticed that the CD is rather spendy on half.com, and hard to come by. Any advice or help? I would love to hear Derek and the guys on a "blues" CD.

Are there some live shows out there with cuts of the songs?

This album would also be a learning tool for me. I play a lot of blues (harmonica) and would like to study Derek's phrasing in a more blues setting. I've had some luck pulling from Hittin' the Note, Joyful Noise, Songlines, and Soul Serenade, but it is always just a song or two. Their live CD has some pretty cool stuff too, but I feel my collectin is incomplete.

Thanks,

Mike

I would try dereks website...

$12 listed here... derek owns the rights again... so pressing cycle isn't the same as a major distributer... but just keep trying... it's worth it...

If anyone can remember, Derek used to wear tie dyed T-shirts during the tour for this album.

yeah 'out of the madness' is the one that started it all for me, about half the album is blues tunes and the rest rest is jazzy (kickin back, young funk, spillway) and funky (look ka py py). awesome playing from everyone esp jimmy herring who rips it up on most of the album

It's a great album. I also bought mine on ebay but for $28. I know a little much, but it's worth it!

I ordered my copy about 4 weeks ago from this website. It was on backorder but I received it about a week ago. So be patient and I think if you still have it on order, you should receive it soon. I've listened to it a few times in the past week - very different sound compared to "Songlines" but just as enjoyable. Great to hear some of the extended guitar work from Derek, Warren and Jimmy Herring.

A great cd indeed.
And judging by the fact that a bunch of songs ended up on the ABB's setlist
one of Derek's finest releases that had plenty of impact.
