Picked it up last night....two discs, over 3 hours....
HD, 16x9, great audio, hooked up my pc to my stereo system, fantastic show....a number of tracks not played on the NBC broadcast....horns really add to the performance, and to my "mates" down under.....the Aussie Birds still look as sweet as I remember them

I love the Eagles music...but it's not the same without Don Felder.

I will boycott this DVD, as I did the tour, because the firing of Felder wasn't right, imho.

He's the guy who wrote the solo for Hotel California and more....he's the best guitar player in that band...Walsh is great but Felder was the MAN!

Yet they fire him...the ego's of Henley and Frey are legendary...

I agree with you completely musicalbeds. I am tempted to buy the DVD b/c I did see the concert special and it was good. Joe Walsh is a good guy too. I'm not really sure what their reasons were for firing Felder, but it's not quite the same w/out him.

+2.

Yeah, you get tempted. I used to love those songs, the ones on the greatest hits. They were some of my favorites when I was younger. But it just seems like a business now, you know? It just doesn't seem to be about the music anymore. You read about a new album, it's like 'we don't have time, we can't all get together, we have other interests, we have to schedule time to write, etc..etc..' my thought is

...forget it-after hearing that, who wants it...when you hear it, you know that the music had to be planned on daytimers. Nah, just keep it.

I agree. "Hell Freezes Over" was a much better concert DVD. I saw some of this new one on cableTV. I don't care for all the studio musicians they were using. Don Felder played 75% of all the leads. That really suprised me when I saw them live in '95. I thought Joe was the one playing lead on those albums.

I saw the show live in Jax FL.. It was a .....real nice show....The horn solo before hotel CA. was really good live.Won tickets on the radio....No complaints. I'll probably buy the dvd if that horn solo w/ hotel are on it....Are they??

Felder is one under-rated guitar player/musician. His solo's for Hotel California are legendary yet he isn't wildly known. Yet here's Life In The Fast Lane, vintage stuff. I Can't Tell You Why has a solo that just drips...another great one. Btw, he's the guitar soloist on Henley's Dirty Laundry too.

I know the band still has a lot to offer without him....Walsh's slide and solo stuff, Henley's fantastic vocals, ...he's one of the best imho, and his too probably ...but I am soooo mad at them for not making up with Felder. If you google it, you will find out Felder's side, it's out there.

someone asked what it cost.....got it at Borders for 25.99, down from the listed 29.99, and if you have a student ID, you got a total of 30% off the listed price.

For those with HD systems, you will be very very pleased.
