What an amazing show. Great setlist, the Brothers were having a Ball tonight. I took a few pictures, I put brand new batteries in the camera, and they died the third song in.

I'll post them tomorrow. Pre show was a great time. Me and Dad had fun meeting up with Karen, her Nephew Ron, Daughter and Boyfriend. Also got to me RotenRob, spent some good time talking with him in the IL live, cool guy, and a nice wife. Meeting Photodude and little Derek was a ball too, always fun hanging with that crowd.

Almost too wiped to post anymore, Best show I've seen!

Looks like a great setlist -was there an IL? If so I'll pick that up for sure. Into the Mystic sounds naked without horns. Suprised Midnight Rider was played so late in the night, that's usually practically a soundcheck!

Jessica which was resurrected from the dead made its 3rd appearance in 4 nights last night. The show was not the usual fare. ABB with horns is not the same band. No drums last night...show was 30 minutes shorter than jones beach on wednesday. Into the Mystic was worth the price of admission alone.

btw, southside johnny played a 90 minute set..which was 45 minutes too long. i liked moe better in the opening slot.

so on to ratdog at the fair tonight. also ted nugent at 4pm at the chevy pavillion near gate1.

South Side Johnny was 10 times better than Moe. Some great hits, moe was way too lag to open for the ABB. Need someone to pump up the crowd.

different strokes for different folks. i thought southside johnny would have been more appropriate opening for bon jovi at the jersey shore (imho) as for moe, you can take them or leave them but its at least the same kind of music. ie, moe did not sound out of place wed night at jones beach. southside would have been better off playing the pavillion for free.

Well they basically did play for Free. I mean, I bought my ticket to see the ABB, whoever is opening is basically a free bonus to see.

Here's some pics I took.

Hi all-
Bummed this is the first time I missed State Fair ABB since I was dragged to see them in 91. However, 2 friends of mine who I dragged to see ABB recently jumped the fence and saw the show and the first thing they said when they came back was "We got there and they were playing Into the Mystic!". Karma.

Tburg Mike-

I'm in the same boat.... 1st State Fair ABB show I've missed since '95, had to work. Sounds like an awesome show too. Actually I went to see Nugent at the fair yesterday, and they were playing the ABB's Instant Live from the night before at the Dinosaur BBQ tent! Great music to hear while waiting in line for a pulled pork sandwich!!

Southside Johnny better than Moe? Ten times better than Moe? Are you the President of the Southside Johnny fan club? How about some reality? The Juke Horns are 10 times better than the rest of the band and the rest of the band is 10 times better than Southside Johnny! I don't hate 'Southside' because he's 'having a good time' I hate him because his voice was shot 20 years ago and his 'Joe Cocker on heroin' stage act is so dated it makes me want to jump onstage and pummel him with a Juke horn.
Moe on the other hand is an interesting band of very talented musicians who, while not entirely my cup of tea, I enjoy watching. There were a hell of alot more people at the six Moe/ABB shows I went to, to see Moe than there were at the Borgata to see Southside, but since your such a big Southside fan I'm sure you'll be at Martell's Tiki Bar in Point Pleasant to check them out the next three nights and don't worry, Moe won't be playing there anytime soon.

Alright whatever dude. That's your opinion. I thought moe was horrid since last time I saw them. There set was too mellow for me. Heroin on stage act? Okay...??

I like moe. a lot - I think there is some real talent in that band. They can play their instruments very well and I think their jams are pretty focused and tight. I like bands that are all about the music and - like a lot of the bands in the Jam scene - doing it on their own terms. They are doing it all through hard work and constant touring which is a good formula for the real bands that care about music and not fashion or videos. I'm not gonna rip Mikey for liking Southside - its his perogative - but personally they are not for me. I like the horn section with The Brothers when they sit in but that "Jersey shore sound" just isn't my thing - and I'm from Jersey! I find Southside's voice annoying as hell. They probably would sound okay at a barbecue or something...

He definitely is on fire! We headed back home to Roch after the 1st show, some friends who stayed said the 2nd was even better. The place was packed for the 1st one!
