I was at the Toronto show on August 16, 2005 in the 201 section. First, there was a fist fight that broke out slightly behind us. Later on, some woman came up to everyone in the section and asked them to sit down so her son could see. She said that she paid $800 for her tickets which I found hard to believe. Anyways, the guy in front or me refused to sit down and said that he paid his money and can stand and dance if he wants to. I am totally in agreement with his position. When he told the woman she said that was not very nice and went away.

Anyhow, now he felt obligated to stand for the whole show. At one point, some idiot (to put it mildly) decided to throw their beer cups at him twice, one of which hit him and bounced off and then hit me on the head and the next one hit me square in the back. Now, for the record, my grilfriend and I sat down to avoid any confrontation and I am the one who got hit with beer cups! How is that fair?! Not to mention the fact that I was taping the show.

People who behave violently like this are not welcome. Please stay home in the future if you have a large problem with people standing and/or dancing or if you like to fight.

There was no problem where I was at.

You paid for that seat and you can do whatever you'd like to do. Find it hard to believe someone paid that much money.

I hope it never happens but, if I ever get something tossed at me, I will for sure do something about it. And I don't mean fight - I'd get the a-hole thrown the f*** out of there!!

Absolutely .....if I knew who did it. I would make it a point if there was something brewing (like people yelling at someone to sit down), to take in my surroundings and make note of troublemakers.

I don't know what the problem is over there (in SE Michigan, Canada is "over" rather than "up") but it seems that Canadians don't comprehend that when you're seeing the ABB live the music is going to make you shake you bones. I've been asked to sit down too many times by dimtwits with Canadian accents. Any feedback from our Northern peacheads?

$800 tickets come from brokers. There were people at the Beacon with $700 seats last March.

The morons could've paid less and gotten front row seats in the Big House auction. That's why I so love the internet. I wonder if that was Canucky dollars or American.

Most Canadians don't say 'aboot' instead of about....at least, not that I've heard. Maybe the odd east coaster...

Toronto fans are lazy, imho. I have been told to sit down at; the Rolling Stones, CSNY, the Tragically Hip and Eric Clapton....all at the Air Canada Centre.

The CSNY anecdote is the most ironic....I was told to sit down while Neil and the boys were playing "Rockin' in the Free World".

I just ignore it...I don't buy expensive tickets up close, I buy them near the back so I can stand up and dance.

If the people behind me don't like it, they can leave....harsh maybe, but life sometimes is...

I had a similiar problem in Nashville, TN so it is not just the Canadians and my seat was not that great of a seat.

The folks behind me insisted that I sit down...I told them that my butt has not sat down for over 20 years at a ABB show and was not going to start that night...they called me a "bitch"...called security on me....security told them that I was in the space that I had rented for the night and could stand all night if I wanted to...of course I had pointed out to the security person that the ticket did not say "No Standing". So they proceeded to throw ice at me ....

There were empty seats on their row that they could have moved to but they wanted to sit behind me...I even stood through the slow songs...no way that I was sitting down!!

I"ve also been asked to sit at Virginia Beach...I told them the same thing that it would not be my first night sitting...they had more class and did not throw things at me.

People, you are not in a theater at the symphony...you're at a rock and roll outdoor venue show....loosen up and enjoy!! Try a little dancing...you just might enjoy it and have fun!!

For the record, I'm not always the one sitting down at concerts but I think there is a time to stand and a time to sit. Sure you paid for your "seat" but so did everyone else. If you are 1 single person who is blocking several people's view of the show, I think it's only fair that you curtail your actions. The whole show? No, of course not, but I think if you are the ONLY one standing up dancing while everyone else around you is sitting, you should be considerate or at least aware of what you are doing and who's view you're blocking. What if the person who's view you are blocking is handicapped? What if a woman is pregnant? All concert patrons are trying to enjoy the show and it would be nice if people were considerate of other people's situations. This is especially true of lawn/general admission seats. If you happen to arrive after someone else and you plop RIGHT in front of them and dance away their view... all night long, you are probably being rude. Now there is obviously LOTS of room for exceptions here, like seat position (people in the very front tend to stand while people in the back tend to sit), length of dancing or standing, etc. Now that being said, there are some people who improperly and rudely request that others sit down. A prime example would be what happened to newdealtaper. If others had calmly and nicely requested that the "obstructor" sit down every now and then there would not be much of a problem. So the moral is just be considerate and calm whether you are the "requester" or the "obstructor". We're all there to see a favorite band and a great show whether it's the ABB or another show. Just a thought

Can We trade for a copy of this show? Unless some of the beer sprayed on the mics.. don't care for a beer hiss.

Let us know. Was a damn good setlist.

I gave an old college buddy of mine a Jackknife Powerbomb once before an ABB show in 94'. It was pretty violent, & in hindsight, rather stupid.

Now, this isn't me, but basically you pick the victim up, & you raise him as high as you can.....

and then drop him with force!
