Government Mule and TTB will be there.....there's a "mystery headliner" still to be announced.

So.....is it the ABB?

If I was a betting man I'd say the last major act on the bill will be the ABB. However, and this is probably sacrilege to say in this forum, I'd rather see Neil Young instead of the ABB. Neil's career is also winding down and I haven't seen him nearly as many times as the ABB so one last show with Neil would be great.

That said, I really, really hope Mule does another set at some point during the weekend. Only one night of Mule last year was a big disappointment so I hope Warren and the promoters remember what Mountain Jam is really about and give us two days of Mule no matter when they play the second time. Like a set Sunday night before the headliner or even a late night set on Saturday night....

I actually hope the band is not the ABB.
I was at Mountain Jam 4-5 years ago when ABB closed out Sunday, it was a cold day/night, which is typically the case for mountain Jam.
It was a very uninspired set by the ABB, you could tell that Gregg was just too cold to care.

WSP would be my choice, or MMJ... both bands have killed MJ in the past.
And I also agree, two nights of Mule should be mandatory.

Warren is no longer involved in producing Mt. Jam and I doubt we will see Mule perform twice. It appears to me it will be Mule, Ratdog and one other headliner.

I was there, too. My buddies were dressed in shorts for the warm afternoon, and were making fun of me for wearing jeans, and carrying my jacket.

They were freezing by the time the ABB came on.

The band announced that they wouldn't take their break, in consideration of the weather, and you're right. I remember the playing being uninspired.

We left before their set was over.

As I recall, the wind really picked up, in addition to the temperature dropping. The weather was nasty after sundown.

Mountain Jam might be the single most underwhelming performance of the ABB's otherwise spectacular 40th Anniversary year in 2009.

You can practically throw a dart at a list of 2009 ABB tour dates and come up with an excellent show...as long as the dart doesn't land on Mountain Jam. I don't think I have listened to that show all the way through once since it happened.

I have a different take on the issue than some on this thread, though. I would love for the ABB to go back to Mountain Jam and absolutely kill it. It just wouldn't be right for the 2009 show to be the ONLY Allmans show ever at Mountain Jam.
