Does anyone else agree that last night was probably the best show they have ever seen?
The level of musicianship last night was nothing less than spectacular,I have been doing the Beacon since 89 and this just was off the charts on all levels...
I brought a first timer and have always told him you have to experience what I have been telling you for years?
The man was floored and said he never had music take him in and bring him to a place he has never been before....The man is hooked and still in shock,(LOL)....

I too have seen them multiple times...I'm a huge music fan...literally thousands of shows since mid-70s...from BB King to Bruce to EC, etc. Last night, two guitar players took us places I didn't even know existed...It's a show, musically, I will never forget...

There were some duels last night that in my life time I never imagined I'd see.
Derek/Warren
Warren/Bill Evans
Oteil had a duel and a drum solo!

The last 2 nights, combined, reminded me exactly why I buy so many tickets, I intend to buy both on CD. When they started IMOER with Bill Evans, I knew we'd all be transported. Last night was my favorite of 4 shows this run. So far - who knows what next week will bring - these guys are amazing.

I agree, terrific show last night. Dare I say I preferred Tuesday, the 5th? Only because of song selection did Tuesday stand out more than Saturday, but those were definitely the two best times I've seen ABB out of ten shows or so.

Sounds great to me. Derek/Warren to me has no equal.

I went to the 8th and 9th.

On Saturday, I was still in a state of awe from Friday. I'm just gonna lump Saturday in as a continuation of Friday and call it the best ever.

Incredible run so far. Been to shows on the 2nd,5th and 9th and each have been unique and special. I never expected to see The Brothers this good again but they proved me wrong. Can they maintain this level?

agreed.

I heard Derek and Warren do things on the guitar I've never heard before

some telling observations (imo)

before Dusk till Dawn Warren announced "a new song". Everyone in front of me (Orch P, Gregg's side) sat down right away. By the end of the song, they were all standing and going wild

at the end of Bill Evan's solo, Oteil just covered his head in his hands

During either Rocking Horse or BHW, Warren and Oteil were locked in, and Warren practically bowled Oteil over with his playing

Derek smiled during the jams in the second set

What's amazing is they are still fresh to me and have no problem seeing full runs if we could. We're doing. 5 of 12 and I feel I'm going to miss something zzz

Saturday night was one of the best shows we've seen! Totally rocked us out!
Must admit was just a tad disappointed with the encore (Southbound). Maybe the guys were tired? Just an opinion...

For me, first set was great. Second set - I love a Liz Reed/drums but it does suck up some time for some other songs, add in a Southbound encore and not playing to midnight - made the second setlist a little lacking - but performed top notch. Off and on through the night Derek seemed hard to hear to me, while Warren was clear and loud the whole time. Maybe something to do with seats (off center balcony)?

I went to the 8th and 9th shows. They were both off the charts, amazing performances. The 9th, in particular, had me saying, "where did this come from?".

Every member was on fire. What put these shows over the top for me was how good Gregg Allman sounds right now. I really thought that after last year that the vocally, the best days of Gregg Allman were behind him. I was wrong....this man is restored. I can't believe how strong he sounds right now. I just can't.

I was at the 8th and the 2nd set blew my mind. Best since 2009. I really thought 2012 was sub par until the summer. I wonder if they felt they let the beacon down last year and are tearing the sh*t out of it this year. It's like they made some sort of pact or something.

I thought the room was levitating at points in the 2nd set on Friday. It had that magic that is the reason you keep seeing a certain band 40 or 50 times even after a few clunkers...

Going tomorrow. Can't wait !!!!

Are they still selling CDs of the concert after the show is over?

Sharyn, I wish i could go again this week...would love to but can't really afford a third night. Now if you could find someone with an extra ticket for me, I'd be most grateful...

Yes - they take Instant Live orders on the left side of the lobby just past the t-shirts.

Awesome. Do you know if they take cards for payment or just cash?

I saw this 3/9 show too. I was able to keep my streak alive starting in '99. I also bought the live CD and it is excellent! I don't often buy these at shows, but this is by far the best quality i own of a post-show purchase. The detail is evident... you can hear every voice and instrument. I haven't heard it mentioned, but Gregg was on the money Saturday night...no flubs...sounding real strong.
