Ozzy Sabbath Reunion Not Ruled Out was a top 10 story this week . Here is the recap: Rock Radio has this report for those pondering what the future might hold for Black Sabbath: Heaven and Hell guitarist Tony Iommi regrets that he didn't make it to Ronnie James Dio's bedside before the singer died of cancer in May. Only after the band play their final show in at High Voltage in London will he think about the future and he won't rule out a Black Sabbath reunion with Ozzy Osbourne.
Iommi tells the Sunday Mercury: "This will be the last gig as Heaven and Hell. We couldn't carry on without Ronnie it just wouldn't be right, and none of us has the desire to do that. We wouldn't want to call ourselves Black Sabbath either.

"We'd like to do something, but in what form, and with what singer, I don't know." He says of reuniting with Ozzy, "I spoke to Ozzy after Ronnie's funeral and he said he'd give me a call when he got to England on his tour. I've not had that call yet. Ozzy and I have a complicated relationship. Would I play with him again? Who knows? It's weird with me and Ozzy. We can decide what we'd like to do after the tribute is done."

I wouldn't mind seeing Ozzy and Sabbath one more time.

Yeah I agree. Ozzy needs to give up on his solo career. His last few studio albums have been average if even that. He needs some songwriting help. Get back with Sabbath, do something with them for a few then call it a day.

The last Sabbath tour was disappointing to me.

They had to drop "Sabbath Bloody Sabbath" because it is too high for Ozzy to sing anymore.

i agree completely dancin dave. ozzy's voice is shot. ronnie's passing was a shame as that was much better than the last ozzy version.

RIP Black Sabbath

ps- saw Maiden's "Flight 666" documentary last light from a Palladia Channel showing. It's from their 2008 World Tour. Highly recommended if you've ever liked Maiden.

IF IF IF IF IF IF IF Sabbath ever tours again, it should be mostly NEW material, with only a few classics chosen that can be sung WELL.

The same goes for Deep Purple. And The Who. And everyone else.

Play some new songs, take some chances, **** the greatest hits already.

Ozzy's voice has been shot for many years IMO. I saw Black Sabbath with him ten years ago and his voice was completely shot then. Time for Oz to hang it up already. Iommi, and Butler still had their chops when I saw them with Ronnie Dio a couple of years ago so I'm sure they could do something with someone.

In all honesty - Ozzy's voice peaked around the time of Sabotage. Lots of folks may not realize it, but a great deal of the stuff he sang in the 70's was HARD to do. By that, I mean that he STAYED up high as hell. To pull that off night after night is impossible for most. I don't see how the guy can even speak after trying to sing it all for so long.

Still - he's the greatest front man in R&R. Maybe they could just tune down about 20 steps and give him a go. I'd still love to see them again.

Of course - we all know it depends on what SHARON wants, unfortunately.

i can think of plenty of singers who sang as high as ozzy or higher for much longer and can still sing pretty well, rob halford, geoff tate, dio (well before this year).

Oh yeah - those guys can hit higher notes per se, but just try singing to some of it. Most of those guys usually end up singing most verses at a lower key but hit the high (and ultra-high) notes in bursts. Ozzy just stayed up there. Listen to an album like Sabbath Bloody Sabbath. He stays high and never comes down. A real pain in the arse to sing after you've done a few.

halford sang the song "painkiller" which is high the entire song and its about 6 minutes long

i agree for sure SBS is high but ozzy's voice was pretty high in general back in the day. a lot of the singers we are naming like gillan and halford had a lower natural comfortable range but could do the high stuff. ozzy smoked and drank and made his natural range lower and after that he couldn't sing the high stuff. its probably because he really never knew how to do any vocal techniques. michael sweet from stryper is another singer with a crazy range and scream. a lot of a songs he's just showing off that he is atechinally sound singer, doing things like switching from falsetto to chest voice in the same breath and the same note. he can hit most of his notes in chest voice but to switch from fasletto to chest voice in the same note and breath is pretty hard. also he'll start a scream and hold it awhile and on the same breath go higher which is hard. michael sweet is basically an opera singer who is singing in the hard rock genre
