Pete and Roger: Can you please, please, please NOT play Won't Get Fooled Again? Classic rock radio decided about 30 years ago that it was about the only song in your repertoire and it's got to be right up there with Stairway To Heaven as one of the most overplayed songs of all time. Besides, I never really liked it much, and I'm a Who fan.

I'm not saying don't play anything commercial, hell, it's The Super Bowl. And I know time is limited and you can't do all of these, but here are my suggestions:

Who Are You
Substitute
Baba O'Riley
Goin' Mobile
Bargain
The Real Me
5:15
Sea and Sand
We're Not Gonna Take It/See Me Feel Me/Listening To You

and if you REALLY want to dig deep and show what you're made of, how 'bout something from The Who By Numbers, like maybe:

Dreaming From The Waist
They Are All In Love
Blue, Red and Grey

The Super Bowl this year is being televised by CBS. CSI is in CBS. The themes songs for the 3 CSI shows are Won't Get Fooled Again, Who Are You and Baba O'Riley. I think that pretty much seals the deal as to what 3 songs will be played. I'd bet my house on it.

I think they they have time for maybe 4 songs. I am going with ...

Magic Bus
My Generation
Who are You
Won't get fooled again

I am sure with the production of the Super Bowl, it will be pretty damn good. Let's just hope Rogers voice holds out? I wonder if they will have Zack Starkey on drums? I would think he would still be with the band. He was pretty good the last time I saw the Who.

I'd like for them to play "The Seeker"
I'm sure they won't though

The Seeker was on my list at first, but then I scratched it. I am sure they won't play it either. I wouldn't mind Eminence Front, but I am sure they won't play that either.

Let's start with this. When the Stones played the Bowl a couple years ago it sucked. Jagger voice was weak and unconvincing. Expect the same from Roger since his voice has been shot for about 5 years. On any given night, he can pull it off ok but there are plenty of nights where plenty of songs are either messed up or he pulls back so far you just feel bad for him.

My thoughts in BOLD on your suggestions not that anyone's listening to any of us:

but here are my suggestions:

Who Are You good shot of this one
Substitute Not likely
Baba O'Riley Good shot at this one
Goin' Mobile no way
Bargain not likely
The Real Me no F'n way
5:15 possible but unlikely
Sea and Sand Be amazing but: Here by the not going to happen
We're Not Gonna Take It/See Me Feel Me/Listening To You Listening To You a maybe, the rest I don't think so

and if you REALLY want to dig deep and show what you're made of, how 'bout something from The Who By Numbers, like maybe:

Dreaming From The Waist Oh please
They Are All In Love Oh please
Blue, Red and Grey This would really be great and perfect but never happen

Now, for my money, someone chuck Roger a tamborine and play Sparks!!!

Figure on a 15 minute medley or a bunch of short songs with a medley

i agree w/ the guess of the 3 CSI themesongs, but I thing just like Bruce, we'll get a medley of sorts, so there may be a few more "songs", thrown in there.

won't matter that Rog's voice is shot, he'll be lipsynchin' anyway!!! (ducks for cover as Moonie blows up the drumset, deafening Pete...)

EAPFSuper Bowl Halftime "shows" - it'd be nice if they recognized the two lost members. r.i.p. moon & ox

meaty beaty big and bouncy

As a huge fan, I wish they weren't doing it. I picture lots of people at parties laughing and making wise-cracks at the band (what a bunch of geezers, look at that singer trying to hit that high note!). Just as with the Stones, why tarnish their image at this point? It's too mainstream of an audience for them. I may just turn off the TV at halftime and crank up some Who's Next. (I wish as someone said that they would play Squeezebox - that would get some response at the network).
